Default Panther Plans

Hello all! I saw the post about the forum needing new life, so I bought my father an avid Modeler a HL Panther, and he is already looking to fix it. YHR's build thread is helping, but does anyone have plans of a panther?

He is an architect and needs a set of plans! Thank you all!

Hopefully we will have a few more builds coming up!

Cheers,
Oliver

I found some on the internet. THey weren't great, but along with a spec sheet, they are workable. Just try googling "Panther tank plans", you will find something!!!!

YHR how did you decide what cuts to make in the top deck? Where those simply approximations?

My daughter and I are going to redo our Panther early next year. Instead of sectioning it from the center and having to change to smaller motors, we're going to take 4-5mm out of each sponson instead. This way the overhang with the Mato Panther tracks disappears. Tank is very heavy and I feel it needs Speed400s to keep it moving. It's a dog with the low speed high torque Suntechs right now. No fun to drive.

Here is a picture showing where I made the cuts and what I added for length. I hope this helps. If you are going to keep the Tiger tracks then this conversion is a good one. However if you want to go to the narrow Panther tracks, then you may want to remove material from the overhang. I think this would end up being much harder.

Also If I did this again I might make my cuts based on how much room I needed to stuff the stock HengLong motors in the chassis. I was oh so close, but had to switch out the motors. Another of couple of mm and I could have got by with the stock stuff.

As I mentioned before my Panther has lots of errors, but from 3 ft away it looks OK. I just refer to it as a King Panther II.
