Default SNFF1125

Well it is Sunday again already. WOW time flies when you are having fun. Show us what you have been working on the past week. Doesn't need to be finished, just needs to be tank related. Encouragement and inspiration is the intent of this thread. So show us what you have been up to.

For me, I upgrading my Panther to a DBC V 1.6 and then I spent some time adding a few more details. THe bbl lock is now functional and hinges out of the way when battling. I also continued with little chips and rust to represent a battle weary tank. Oh ya, added some spare road wheels as well.

Excellent YHR, I like the spare road wheels on the turret nice touch and something differant! Those stripes have to come off the barrel if you have installed a DBU, unless you already have that many kills in battle?

The kill stripes are made with white clothlike tape. So they can be removed, and added. If ever I get battling in a club, I'll make them reperesent my success or lack of.!!!!!

Where is grand Praire, is it near the border of Montana? I was planning on a back packing trip to hike the Garden wall this summer and keep on going into Canada, you can see Grizzlies in there natural habitat! Its something likea 22 mile hike but after you hike up 7 miles to a mountain chalet, its a slow elevation drop of 3k ft. into Canada! We could meet you on the other side for a international battle!

Grande Prairie is in Northern Alberta. Probably closer to the Alaska Border then the 49th. I am thinking about heading down south to one of the clubs that are active here though. Maybe sometime after Christmas, I 'll pack up a couple of tanks and head to Texas, California, or Arizona. I'll have to check the battle days coming up and start planning something.

I guess that means I better start building a packing crate. I can imagine it will be an interesting conversation at customs!!!!!!!

DAK has a battle planned for Dec 29th if you can make it. We're even close to major roads and hotels. Just ask the California crowd. As per the packing... Walmart has a tool box for $10.88 that can be used as a tank transport. I will post a build article on as soon as I finish my next static model and "In The Mood"

Guys:

I try to tell all you guys this - What US stores carry and what Canadian ones ones carry has NO comparison. Same with Radio Shack, which is almost gone here in Canada - Circuit City bought 'em out.

You have to give us a brand name and image, as the model and SKU will probably NOT be the same. I couldn't find a single unit in Walfart to fit my tanks, and finally found a Black & Decker unit that is perfect for everything up to the old Leo 1A4 (barely) that runs $25 at Rona. It even has a place for a lock on it, to keep inquisitive paws out of the cases. Anyone interested, I'll post a pic of one with the B&D label.

I wish I could travel, but between funds and my illness, its a no-go.

Here are a couple of shots of my own "work in Progress"...T-34 conversion into an SU 100 using sheet styrene (and whatever else I can find). The driver's hatch has been moved over about 1/2", and the commander;s cupola opened. The "Russians" --still waiting their insignia and decorations -- are all "converted" Tamiya and Dragon Germans....the "Colonel" actually started out as a DAK Tank Crewman!

This is a rebuilt Heng Long. A fairly major bash, but wasn't that tough once I got started.

I started a re-hash of the HL panther similar to what you have done. The hull is squeased down and ready for filler and paint. Went very good, easier than I had anticipated. Your pictures have helped greatly.
