RC Abrams
Howdy,
I'm looking for a good r/c abrams that will run well right out of the box. The best I've seen so far is VSTank but the airsoft version is pretty hard to locate. Tower Hobby has the infrared battle version and maybe that will be the way to go. I prefer the airsoft version and can order through ToyEast on ebay which is related to the manufacturer but I'm not sure how good they are to order from. Does anyone know of any other manufacturers of a quality r/c abrams for about $150 or less and where I could get them?

RE: RC Abrams
Theres 3 options on the cards for abrams:
1/24 VSTank
1/16 Hobby Engine *fires, but not BBs*
1/12 HaiLang (not Heng Long)
Whilst I would usually recommend the 1/16 to fit in, 1/12 for big projects (it slow and crap out of the box) -- the 1/24 seems about the best choice for your criteria. I would go with Tower Hobbies, plenty of other people do!

RE: RC Abrams
It's very toy-like in it's movement, but like most things its a good basis for a project -- like converting to more realistic proportional control (rather than just stop and go flat-out)

RE: RC Abrams
i agree the 1/24 abrams is a great tank especially with the upgraded tracks. if you want IR go with tower hobbies . but if you want either airsoft or sparkling (flashing barrel) go with toyeast the prices are decent either place the only real difference is tower will get it to you faster for 128.00 then toyeast will for 120.00 see pics and video

RE: RC Abrams
The sparking tank looks pretty cool. I see ToyEast can deliver it to Michigan for about 100 even or 120 for the airsoft. I see they sell the airosft gun seperate as a part and I'm wondering if you can swap it out with the sparking gun.

RE: RC Abrams
LOL Aslvrfrost98csvt your video beautifully illustrates VSTanks ridiculous recoil action. Wouldn't wanna shoot on an incline -- it'd backflip!!
Also solidifies why I personally prefer 1/16 (or bigger) for my tanks - 1/24 bops along, lacks the weight to make it look imposing (or stop it jittering along the top of the grass)

I think the recoil is over done on almost ALL of the tanks.

RE: RC Abrams
Don't banannahobby have them the VS airsoft version right here in the USA?
Other than the recoiling when fired they are much more stronger and better made than the Hen long 1/16 tanks ..i run my 1/24 tanks and beat on them when i run my 1/16 in the same manner they break down all the time... you can always take out the dumb switch inside the airsoft unit this will shut of canon fire sound but will also stop the fake looking jerking back motion.... with the airsoft version you don't really need the canon sound because the air gun sets off a loud POP sound when fired anyhow.

RE: RC Abrams
I've read a lot of bad things about bananahobby including they are under investigation by the FBI. I think I'll order from ToyEast.
