Nope. Not unless you have the Tamiya electronics inside.

Dang you new guys need to read the forum through, although it is getting tough to do with all the new posts coming in!
Davids battle system is fully compatible, it is a kit though and you can buy it from David DBC in that form or PM and I can asseble one for you at additional cost!
Tank Zone in the UK has a battle system but not near the capablities of Davids system DBC! If you read the reports on the IR battles, that is what I have been using to participate in the battles is Davids system! SCAT & DAK battles!
Here is Davids web site and if electronic assembley is not your cup of Tea you can order it from me assembled!!

THe DBC is a good system. You can get rid of the Heng long whiplash recoil, and run user recordable cannon and hit sounds. I have 4 tanks rigged up with it, and I received another couple of units just before Christmas. I'll be using the DBU on the Sherman.
The guys in Arizona just had a battle day, and the reports on the DBC were that it was completely compatible with the Tamiya system. This is not a plug and play system though, and requires soldering skills good enough to solder to the Heng Long ESC.
