You get the new low profile high torque gear boxes that come with high rpm 280 motors. OR You get the other new high torque gear boxes and install Graupner Speed400s in them. You will have to modify the interior slightly to make them fit, they are a little longer then the originals. This will allow you to keep moving as the hits keep slowing you down. If you keep the HL board you'll definitely need a cooling fan on the transistors to keep them from blowing.

Im just looking for replacement motors the gear boxes are fine just need some more speed the Tamiya dmd setup seems to slow the motors down too much , I installed graupner speed motors in my T34 and they made a big difference maybe thats the way to go...What size motors do the Panzer 3 have??

I've seen the low profile gear boxes (from TamToys, I think) in previous posts. Don't remember seeing any other new gear boxes. Do you have a link?

Has anyone tried the new low profile gear boxes and how are they?

The Speed400s may well work alone. Then again, they may not have enough torque as the battle unit cuts the voltage to keep the tank moving. That's why I mentioned combining that with the gearbox for more torque. I think Wild Willy alluded to this with his King Tiger.

Here's the link Phil, same makers as the other ones:

I use speed 480s in my pershing that allows me to still move at the 25% damage speed. They have higher torque but run slower than the orignal motors. The can of teh motors are longer too, so you have to see ifyou can fit them in to begin with.

There are flux rings as an accessory can increase torque (at low speed) while decreasing top speed slightly.
