Hi,
I have just purchased from Tank Zone in the UK a white metal machine gun for the Tamiya Leopard 2A6. I am trying to work out how to fit it to the tank. Does anyone have any photo's of one that they have fitted.
Thanks,
Mark

on the loaders hatch there should be a ring around it. There is a small block molded on the guide ring. That is the base for the pintle mount for the MG-3. Did your MG come with the modern German style mounts?

The machine gun did come with a mount on the bottom which i assume that you don't use to when mounting on the Leopard 2A6? I have located the small molded block on the ring around the loaders hatch. There is a small hole in it which is where i have mounted the machine gun?

Basically yes. Do you have a picture of the gun or a link to the page that sold it. if i could see it i could tell you if it was a simple matter of paint it and glue it or if you would need to do some minor scratchbuilding.

yup just paint it and glue it. The mount for the gun will be in nato green and the gun wil be a dark gunmetal with a black buttstock and hand grip. I think its pretty obvious is the gun is a direct decendant of the MG-42. If you notice some details missing on it just get a plastic 1/16 Dragon MG-42 and paint to fit. The dragon ones are almost prefect for details.
You have an extra ring block there too. Its up to you if you want to remove the one on the kit or if you want to just glue it to the kit supplied slider block.

Hi,
I'm no expert but what is the piece that the MG sits on in the mount? Looks a bit like a canon or is it an aiming device? Is it painted Nato green or gun metal?
Thanks,
Mark
