What's wrong with Me???

I've already got too many tanks that I have to hide some of them in my office...Matorro KT, HL Pershing, HL Panzer III, Torro Tiger, Torro T-34...etc. [&:] Why do I still have to struggle with the urge to reach out for my credit card when I saw the Panzer IV on sale?
Do you guys experience the same problem like me???

It's only a problem if viewed as a problem -- and I think we may be the wrong people to ask. However, in the past, Tamiya's pricing seems to have restricted this disease to the affluent and the very committed. In retrospect, a worthy, if not entirely selfless contribution to public health.
Now with HL and Torro and others out there breeding accessible items, any dilettante who can scrape together $100 or so at a time is seriously at risk. The situation is already fraught with peril and with the increasing incidence of unexpected outbreaks of new variants such as the Panzer IV, acquired resistance has been rendered useless.
The prognosis is currently grim and the epidemic has just begun. Probably the only solution is renting a storage space under an assumed name and just hoping for better times (or even cheaper tanks).

Isn't it true.
I have been a model railroader all of my Adult life. I stumbled onto a Heng Long tank while surfing ebay and purchased one. Being used to spending hundreds of dollars for little railroad locomotives with DCC, and then getting my first 1/16 scale tank c/w with rc radio, I was in awe of the value it represented. It wasn't long before tanks started arriving at my door every couple of months. I'm up to 10 now, and you can be sure when Mato has the PZ IV, that will be on the way as well.
This forum doesn't help. All this good advice and master modellers showing their work is an inspiration that keeps me from recovery from this tank illness I have picked up.

Do you know any serious fisherman with just one fishing pole? How about a hunter with just one rifle?
A different take would be to say that most of us on here buy lots of tanks to "model" them. That is to paint, equip and modify them much like you would do with a 1/35 scale tank. No modeller ever bought and built just one model. These RC Tanks are our models. They just happen to do much more then sit on a shelf! So if that's your intent, there is nothing wrong with that at all. UNLESS, you stop feeding your children and paying your bills to get another tank! Then you have a BIG PROBLEM!

I have a great 1;6 M-5A1 stuart and for the life of me, aside from building/renting a garage, I can't immagine any place with a dozen of them....then there's the guys with big $$$$ that have the 1;4 Tigers etc. I'd prefer another 1;1 tank, but my commandant says "don't even think about it".

Thanks guys for all the interesting and 'helpful' advise....
Maybe next time I should start another thread on 'What do you tell your wife when you want to get another tank?'

There's nothing wrong with you.
If we didn't buy these tanks then think of all those people who'll be out of a job. It's the folks like us who keep these people fed and clothed, without out us they'd be wandering the streets begging. By buying these tanks your doing your part in keeping people out of poverty.
Anyway thats my excuse.

thinking about doing the same, but here in South Carolina, summer temps get into 30-38 grad in summer and unless I could get something fully air conditioned and heated, it would be unusable 4-5 months out of the year and not good storage for plastuc tanks.
A real dilemma and expensive. [

I hope the sun doesn't travel 98000,000 miles, I want it to stay stay where it is. All my tanks would melt if it was only 2000ft above us, come to think of it everything would melt.[

Hello my name is Jake, and I am a tank addict....
It began approximately 6 months ago with a HL Tiger1. A few weeks ago I was forced to buy a STRV 103 (Non R/c). And to today I buy my second (Used) HL Tiger1.
I am doomed to surf the internet for the next tank project….A PzIV, PzIII maybe a T34 or..............
Calvinlo, you are not alone!
Regards Jake

I do envy him man, I wish I could do that.
