That figures. Well, this was the first time that I had seen it, so I got...interested. I had already ordered the Panzer IV from Asiatam (http://translate.google.com/translat...atam%26hl%3Den [if I didn't screw up in German]), so no Panzer III for me.

I'm waiting for the prices to go down and for other variations to appear.

WE knew about the tank but I looked a couple hours ago and it wasn't on his site, must have just gone up.
The tank is painted improperly in the sand color, look at the back deck, it's not a tropicalized version! ARGHHHH!!!
So if I wanted to turn that baby into a Stug III Ausf D, I'd need a PZIII upper hull to swap out the rear decks.
Thanks for posting, I wouldn't have checked for another week.

Take a close look. The H turret was redesigned and I don't see any changes other than the addition of vision blocks forward of the side doors. Don't see any relocation of the lead return roller a few inches forward and the tracks on the H were wider, (400mm) with revised sprocket and idlers, and these look like the same "standard" HL Pz III running gear. The gun is way too thick and it should have a recoil buffer the same as the L, but the short 50mm was much narrower and could be mistaken for a 37mm. This one almost looks like a 75mm. I built an N, M and G and could easilly do this if I wanted to stay with the same track and runing gear. I was hoping HL would at least come out with the appropriate track and running gear. Not impressed.

Bill, the lower hull is different in that it has bolted on towing mounts and not extended hull extensions with enclosed eyes for towing, which started with the J model. The rear deck is different, the spaced armor is not there, the transmission doors are different too.
Gs were the last tanks built with the skinny 360mm tracks. All the Hs had the new 400mm track but many did have the old sprockets and idlers with the spacers. Since the Hs introduced the new and heavier track the front shock was relocated further forward then the earlier models.
The barrel is big because it shoots and the spaced armor is kinda hidden this time because they needed the room to fit the airsoft unit. The new VS airsoft units could be installed allowing the purist to still shoot and have an accurate looking turret without the spaced armor and with a smaller rommelkiste.

I was looking for a picture of the wider tracks and have not found one yet, Impact does offer a Late model PZIII track, Kinda looks wider in the pictures but I wonder if it really is or if it might be the correct track?

Normally, I would have waited to avoid the initial price inflation. However, since that tank does have metal gearboxes, proportional speed with proportional smoke and metal hatch doors, I decided that the extra cash was justified. [&:] As I understand it, the Panzer IV seems to be fairly accurate, if not perfect. That is good enough for me.

Ordered mine just now!!
Anyways, after I confirmed my order at the last step, my internet browser just showed a blank page... is this normal?
I did receive a conformation e-mail along with my order info though.
Thanks for any help!

I sure will,
This is my first tank BTW, all the armour projects I've done up to now were the regular 1/35s... Do the new HLs use the RX-14 boards?

And, if you're into IR battling, this is legally considered a 'light' tank! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
