I just got a Heng Long Tiger1, after reading the posts in this forum I see a lot about flipping the board and or installing fans and heat sinks. My question is how do you open up the hull to get at the inside, I dont want to get off on the wrong foot by taking it apart wrong.

remove the tracks first: use a nail tip or thumbtack to push a silver trackpin (they only come out one way: if its too hard, try pushing it out from the other side) out to remove the track, then undo the 6 screws above the tracks, then the 3 under the tank (one at the front, 2 at the back)

Hey Minnesota boy!!
There are screws on the bottom to start. You also have to remove the tracks (pull one pin on each) because there are three screws under each of them as I recall. Once you do that it will come right apart. Just be careful of the wires when you open it. Feel free to send me a private message if you have more questions.

Depends on how hot it gets there, if youre using the stock battery (1700-2000mah) and what motors your tank has (black or white end caps - black drawing more power)

I have never put anything extra on a board though I do not abuse mine too much. My Tiger I has metal tracks and gears but I never use the smoker. My PzIII is all stock, I just finished the outside.
I think it all depends on how long you run it and under what conditions. I don't think there is a concrete guide but there are many of qualified opinions onthis forum.
