Default New guy here....

Howdy all. Found this site after seeing some RC Tank vids on youtube. I did a lot of armor modeling as a kid and dabbled in RC a few years back with a Traxxas Stampede--bought a kit but ended up putting over $1000 in it before I got bored with it and sold it off. Checked out the 1/6th scales from that Japanese company but got sticker shock.

I'll probably drop the dime on an HL Tiger here before long. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through you guys and your tanks. I'm really enjoying the photo gallery--you guys do good work. If I get the Tiger, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

ya, getting a HL is like getting your learners license. if you dont like it, then you dont waste money and someone will buy it off ya. :P

Also though the tamiya tanks come in kits like your traxxas did. you can put a G into it easy.

Welcome buckeyeshooter!

It really depends on which Tamiya kit you choose. Some might need less aftermarket parts or upgrades then the next, just depends on what side (Axis or Allied) you like the most.

I'm sure you can get a detailed report on what each requires or needs around here ... just ask away.
