Bottom line is, you must make money to stay in business, and I think they pad the shipping cost to help that bottom line. Either that or do what they do in Europe, inflate the price of the tank by 75%.
Yeah we get suckered good here. But from what I can tell, there's more stuff and more outlets available for parts etc than in the US.

No wonder with places like TZ around, they sell one thing and it pays for the next 10, but if people are silly enough to buy there....

I order my tanks from ToyEast.com and their service is always great. They reply to my emails within a day, ship promptly they are very polite and friendly.
Miu is handling all the first-lever customer support and she does it great at that. And if there is something she doesn't know about, like more technical details about the tanks she passes it on to Edmond who is in charge of RC Tanks department there.

i ordered a 1/30 hl sherman from them and it took almost a month to get to me then when it did get here it was broken (gun was hanging off by its wires) through the whole issue i didnt get any responses to my emails and when i called the number they were less then helpful in finding out what happened to my order. so i just choose not to order from them again .

I'm very curiouse how long ago this was and what was the final outcome(was it replaced,ect-).I'm just like everyone else on the forum when buying tanks.I get no deals or disscounts from any dealer.I have bought tanks from Mato (2 tanks and a lot of parts)
RadintecHobbytronBanana HobbyEbayAnd another on line seller who started with good prices but has since raised his prices
way to high so I don't mention his store. My big complaint with Mato has always been shipping time and delays and shipping charges, and this has not changed so needs no further explaining.Radintec has allways proved to me to be overall in the past best prices, cheapest and fastest shipping.Banana Hobby has simular prices but tend to charge more for shipping.Hobbytron is overall a lot higher on prices, but close to the same shipping rate as Radintec. When you say it took a month to get your tank from radintec I must wonder what else took place to cause this.Since I have delt with them for over a year they allways ship UPS with a tracking number
and you can watch your package move through the shipping process. There is no way mato can be compaired to any of the three major sellers I just mentionedpriceshipping time in transitand for sure shipping costIf you live anywhere on the western side of the USA.Now for those on the eastern side I don't know.I have only seen two or three complaints about Radintec from guys here in the U.S.,but i have seen a heck of a lot about mato.I think most guys bought from them from guys telling them to go there to buy
because it was the best place to buy tanks.Well thats not a very true statement-Other guys went to them to get the metal gear boxes allready installed in their tank. And the final reason was to get parts for the HL tanks.Well now finnaly this stuff is avaible here in the U.S. and people will not have to deal with the high shipping cost and the big delays getting their orders.
BIGMIG

P.S. I think this subject in the future will hardly be disscussed because the first question is going to be"why did you buy there in the first place" end of story.

the final outcome was i fixed the tank myself and i never recieved a tracking number until about 2 days before i got it and this took place about 1 year ago. so this is why i stick with mato because i know i can depend on them . i used to order from raidentech (other rc stuff not tanks )and didn have a problem but when i ordered my tank and the order got so messed up plus the lack of communication and then when i did hear from them on the phone they couldn tell me what happened i decided not to use them anymore i just dont bash them in here because i know where i have had issues other people havent .just like the saying goes .you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Hey all, got refund today, hope they get a better comunication system going, I also hope that a few more store's start to carry them in the U.S. , Oh well, they made it right. If you have had good luck with them, don't let what I said change your own opinion, just wanted to let you all know what happened to me, and thanks again for your input.

Slot,

Most honorable follow-up. I commend you! I am a supporter of Mato. They have always done well by me, but I undestand your frustration and anger. Everybody is entitled to thier opinion. Most of the time those who get pissed at Mato, or other vendors, just seem to rant and go on to something else. Very few ever bother to relate that the object of thier rath did something right or corrected a problem.

Mato may not be the best in service. That is a subjective evaluation based upon an individual's experiences. My experiences have been good. Others, such as yourself, have had trouble with them.

But it is good to see someone take the trouble to follow up when the vendor does something right (well, at least they did something, even though you did not get what you ordered).

You are an honest and honorable fellow. More and more, a rare commodity these days.

Live long and prosper, Keep your eyes open and your butt down, may the force be with you.

Splat

Default Beware of Mato

Bought a kingtiger off Mato for the first time. The description said clearly that it was a IR version with recoil barrel. Got the tank and it is BB not IR. Called the number and they didn't return my call. Emailed and I got accused of not knowing anything. Then they stopped communication with me and deleted my account on their website. PayPal decided in my favor and I'll get a full refund including shipping. But Mato refuses to pay for return shipping. Horrible business, horrible person named Steve at Matomart. He even attacked me in the PayPal dispute saying I don't know anything and he never stopped communication. He said and I quote.. " customer , for example, wanted a Samsung with an apple OS". He refused to listen to me that his decription is WRONG on the item. Clueless!

Beware of Mato!

Wow you brought up an old thread. You had to dig deep there man.
Just curious, some of the airsoft variants also do IR nowadays. Are you sure it didnt come with IR.
I just got new taigen sherman that i ordered airsoft and it came with a battle IR apple. I was shocked. It might do IR and airsoft, not sure but dont care as its a project and I dont use taigen IR, I use tamiya.
just saying. But yeat Matomart has terrible comms with customers.

Ya, it arrived only airsoft version. The description said IR battle recoil system installed. Anyway, that's still not solved cause I don't get a refund until he receives the return. Canada post is slow. I was looking for a tank for my next project. I wanna get the infrared system with barrel recoil. I have a Normandy paint design in mind. I've already got a tiger 1 in kursk colors almost done. Its a taigen tank and so far im happy with it. Just not sure about what brand to get next.

The Taigen metal tanks are pretty darn good. At least the shermans are. I have a bunch of them.
Already said what I think of Matomart. and yes their shipping is very slow. ITs too back you got treated that way. He could easly have figured out what the problem was by saying send me a few pictures to show what your talking about. Someone like that either knows he screwed up real bad and doesn't want to help the customer, maybe because he no longer has the IR model of that tank, or he is mentally ill. When I have encountered attitudes like that without rational it usually leans toward mentally ill.

I gave up on Mato and Matomart a long time ago, mainly because of Steve and Murphy. Talk about a pair of arseholes.

Not only is it bad customer service but the quality of the tanks leaves some thing to be desired.

I don't know, I kinda liked the PzIII. I got it before they did ready to run, but I used the same TK20 and all the HL mechanics. Maybe I just got lucky, but mine ran really well and I never had any trouble with it. On the other hand, I did eventually sell it.

Mine was a non RTR also. Issues were stripped threads on suspension arms wobbly wheels just overall poor quality that needed a lot of time to correct all of the short comings. Basically my view on Mato was one and done

I can tell you for a fact, that you guys in the UK have way more options for parts and tank accessories than we do here in the U.S..

I've bought excellent quality metal parts to replace plastic junk in my tank from vendors over there that are not available here in the states..

Nobody carries this stuff at all.. I've called numerous places, only to be told, "they don't make that in metal."

Which is not true.. Cause I just bought an all metal turret ring and the metal turret motor from the UK.. Bought it from "Forgebear"..

Prices to ship it here to the states was worth it to me.. I want metal.. Not plastic crap.. I can't get that in the states.. So you guys have a better variety of stuff over there for sure..

All my upgrades have been purchased from the UK.. From the IBU2-Pro, to better turret elevation gears, you name it.. All I can get here is crap..

You forgot Nathan at RC Tanks OKC. With the internet we all have access to pretty much all the same vendors, just a question of shipping and time. Shipping from asiatam is much more to the US than the UK, but US doesn't pay 19% VAT. With e packets the entire Chinese market is right at our fingertips for most tanks parts. I really think we're living in a golden age for RC.
