I hear ya,
Tiger I for me as well, mine runs well and i just love the look of them.
If HL did a Hetzer or a Jagdpanther then the Tiger would take a back seat.

My tiger is still my favorite. After doing some mods and upgrades as suggested on these forums, it hasn't let me down in over a year.(yes, a whole year!) Best regards, JZ

RE: HL owners - which one is your favorite?
I got my Panzer III today (having been charged twice for it [:@])
its a superb runner, very quiet, and it seems to run outdoors better than my Tiger, which is odd. Shoots good too.
However its very easy to have a track off, I managed to do it 20 minutes after getting it outside, so maybe not great in that department.
Its a toss up between the two. I like them both for different reasons.
The Tiger is one mean looking piece of kit, whereas the Panzer III looks a little bit dated next to it. I love the contrast.
I think a more definite answer would have me choose the Tiger.
BTW does the Panzer III have a radio mast supplied? The fitting is there for it on the starboard side below the turret but there was no aerial for mine. Is this an aftermarket bit?

I'd like a Lucks or a Hetzer. I've thought about scratchbuilding a Hetzer just no suitable track available. Have thought of useing the Pzr3 track but it just isn't the correct pattern

For me it's a toss-up between my Stug III (converted Panzer III) and my heavily modified Matorro Kingtiger (i.e. over priced HL). One's low and sleek, looking to ambush its's nect prey, but quick and agile when confronted in a fight. The other is large and lumbering but doesn't care because of it's 8.8cm L71 cannon will take you out before you long before you have a chance to get close enough to get your shot (lol)

Yes, it should have had one taped to the styrofoam inside the box. The fitting on the side is the actual place, the RCs mount is the brass piece on the rear deck. There are aftermarket antenna masts that mount in the original location or you could make your own.

No it doesn't - the radio mast is an aftermarket part. Matthew I think you're confusing the mast with the RC 'whip' antenna.

the RC whip antenna was blatently obvious. I'm talking about the "model" radio "roger roger wilco and out" mast that should be in the bit coming out the starboard side.

Some have moved there metal antenna to that original location and some like me just made one to look like the antenna that belongs there, it does not come with the model and there is an after market upgrade, but very easy to just make one.

I've seen several posts asking the same thing and from the hull-mount, it does look like it's missing a part and there is often some confusion.

why not convert one from a "standard " Pz III L.? The Pz III lends itself very well to conversions to other ausfuerungen. Turrets are not difficult to modify and early sprockets/idlers are available. Take a Pz IV, install the f2 gun and use the short 75mm gun to convert a Pz III to ausf N.

RE: HL owners - which one is your favorite?
You're correct the side mounted antenna aerial hull wip is missing from the HL PanzerIII kit offer. this was never included in the first place from Heng Long.
as others have pointed out you can apply alittle DIY & make your own or purchase aftermarket unit.
(small selection of PanzerIII pic's with antenna's to compare)
I'm a self confessed PanzerIII devotee (cos that's all I own)

they are lost....he has an officer as a loader and an NCO as TC. Loader would not be reading a map. His troops are going to be very tired holding those weapons while riding, instead of laying them down to take a break, and looking at the rusty tracks, the tank obviously hasn't moved for a couple months..

I have 8 Pz III's, all but the L converted ausf M, N, G, Sig 33, SU-76i and Japanese type 97. H Tauchpanzer has been set up for it's initial role by adding mantlet, bow gun and muzzle covers and the turret connection for the snorkle. A real easy conversion is installing the long 75mm on the Pz IV to give you an f2 and use the short f1 gun on the Pz III to make an ausf N.

placed the wrong pic of my newest FlammenPz III ausf M. "Flame" (water) gets out about 5 feet but turret traverse is restricted to about 90 degrees L or R to prevent crimping of supply hose.

Now that is a Panzer III lovefest. I originally bought mine to chop up for bits, but the little sucker grew on me and is now the pride of my collection. Just got a shipment from Welsh full of detail parts and the side antenna. Should I do an internal coil or should I solder the antenna wire to the aftermarket mount?

Ilike my Panzer III on the German side and the Pershing for the Americans. Never had a Bulldog though or Sherman.

For me it's the Stug III. I want at least 4 of them.
