Default Source for Miniature Hinges

After months of combing dollhouse stores and hobby shops I cannot find a good hinge replacement for my Panzer III fenders. I took the time to line up 3 small hinges and it works but I am asking you guys if you hae a better solution.

The hinge I need is almost an inch long with a very small barrel. Help!

There's Hilltop Hinge, Phoenixmodeldevelopments.com and there was another in your neck of the woods that I cannot remember their name. I called them and left a message, they never called back. In frustration I made my own. For my next couple of Panzer projects I'll be needing hinges on the outside (not my home made ugly ones!) and I plan on using these guys.

I use nylon aerlion hinges available at most RC hobby shops. They are not as nice as the examples shown above, but they are OK

I resorted to making my own for my Sherman.
I used 1mm stainless weliding rod for the pin. That way I could solder the brass bits with no fear of locking the pin.

Hope this is a help.
Cheers.

These hinges are perfect for my application. I bought a few 6 inch lengths to help the cost of shipping, but any one looking this is the site to use!!!

1830801 Fancy Hinge 12mm x 40mm

These little guys work out to be about 6 inches long and with a razor saw i cut them to size. They come with holes for rivets but don't include any.

Those are perfect too! They have a $50 minimum order! Ok, I bought same thing from Phoenix for $16.

Great pictures Oliver! Hinges are spot on, I'm putting mud flaps on the front of my initial production tiger. Saving the leftovers to do exactly as you did on PZIII hull.

Yes you are! You'd figure a country of 300 million people someone here would make miniature hinges AND easy to find via the internet!

My hobby stores leave a lot to de desired. They always seem to be closed when I come by and never have anything I want. My LHS is now Tower Hobbies and Roll Models.

the only bad note with mine is he keeps you talking for age's and really upsets the wife
also did i mention he forces me to spend my ££'s on really cool model and r/c bits that annoys her too
