Guys,
I just got my VSTank T-72M1 in OD. Nice tank, the new transmitter (2 speed reverse) is a step up over the 2007 version, and the 2007 blows the old 2005 I have out of the water. The new gearbox looks nice, but I didn't actually crack it open. Is it a downsized Tamiya copy? Looks like it could be.
My question: My other VSTanks are airsoft, this is my first IR tank. I was under the impression that the IR tanks muzzle's flashed when firing; I've seen Abrams flashing in videos. My T72 doesn't flash. Other T72 owners, is this normal?
Also, I figured if I fired at a mirror, I could get my tank to react as if hit...I couldn't get it to work. Is this just very difficult, normal, or is it a sign maybe my IR functionality isn't what it should be.
Another quick question: What is the rubberized accessory that seems to fit against the commanders hatch? It doesn't really attach too securely to anything, and glueing it on would mean I couldn't close the hatch. What is it, and how are you using yours?

I don't think the IR models flash.. but they do make what they call a "Sparkling" version that does. Maybe that is what they pictured in the video you saw [

Thanks for the replies. It was one of the promos on Youtube, so despite showing an IR battle, there may well have been a sparkling Abrams in there for promos sake.
I might have to convery my other tanks to IR, now.

Hi Guy's it could have been the IR versions showing the muzzel flash a littel ... Get your digital cameras out and focus on the muzzel tip where the IR beam would normally fly out and look at your cameras LCD screen and fire your tank you will see the LED emit a flash....This a cool way to test imitters...TV radio controllers and so forth if they stop working.
