hello THESUNGOESDOWN,

I tried to reply your PM but it bounced back so I contact you thru my post.

"thanks for your kind words.
I didnt use mask because I wanted to do this particular camo with blurred edges so I applied the colors directly with the airbrush.
I never think of filming myself during the painting sessions and honestly I do not have the feeling it would teach anything ...I am no expert

But if you have have more questions do not hesitate to ask.

Thanks again.

PS : for your info, I tried the mask technic for another camo scheme on a King Tiger. you can see it if you want : click on this link, it is in french.

E X C E L E N T J O B, no less!

I'm in the process of converting an Academy 1/25 jagdpanther to RC. I wish I could achieve the same quality of weathering.

Now, a question: is the camo scheme and number #123 a true one? Which was the sPzJgAbt (heavy anti-tank battalion)?

Regards

Robert

Thanks for the compliment !
It was not difficult to get this result, just a matter of time and working with the right tools

The Jagdpanther 123 was a tank of the Schwere Jagdpanzer Abteilung 654, destroyed in April 1945 in Germany. I tried to do the camo as close as possible from the real one, I worked from a color profil and B/W photos.

OK.

Which fittings do I have to paint separately, before glueing to the hull? And, once the hull is painted, how do I glue the fittings to it?

Excuse my questions but I have never built a tank from a kit.

Anyway, this is my job so far:

Did you paint the fittings BEFORE glueing to the hull?

If so, how do you glue the fittings on the hull once it is covered in paint?

Hi,

I did paint the parts like it would have been on a real tank : all the tools, fittings, detail parts were painted before assembling, the tank body itself was painted like you can see on the photos of the first page of this thread. I made the wash technic.
After I assembled the parts on the painted tank (I used CA glue, after I put a drop of CA glue from the inside when I had a "hole and pin" configuration)
Then only after, I began rest of the weathering.

Anyway, try your own technic, with the way you want, just have in mind that it is not possible to do a good job with the painting if you assemble completely the model and after you paint it, it is not possible to be precise and accurate.

Great! Nice to make the small thing run amongst the big ones!

These are my RC conversions (all 1/25 except the Panzer II in 1/24):

And in April 2012, I could visit these in UK:

Let's keep converting tanks to RC!!

Robert
