Default Update on Stug Progress

Spent some time decaling and flaking some paint on my HL stug.

THere is an idea. All tankers will be cross over tankers soon enough. I think you will be surprised by the value a Heng Long presents.

You saw I smoked the new RX 18 on mine already????.

I did, was that because of the metal tracks?

Possibly. I have all the metal upgrades on this tank, and it probably doubles the weight. I think I may have had a gear cogg as well, Moral of story. Don't tax the board. It may look prettier, but mine really flamed up. This has got the old RX13 with heat sinks and has been running fine. David has his now, so soon enough we will see what these new boards are capable of.

Sorry to read that you killed the board in the Stug YHR. However the paint work looks very realistic. Guess I had better start practising for when I get round to painting mine lol. All the best for now

While you were inside the Stug, did you happen to notice if the recoil unit had 2 or 3 wires to plug into the board?

The recoil is part of a 10 pin plug. All it does is engage a small motor that moves the bbl. Pretty micky mouse, but at least it might be a base to build something better.

Oh and thanks to those who made the kind remarks

I see you added a new picture of the road wheel. Is that the aftermarket piece with the real rubber tire? Looks pretty good.

Where are those available from?

I buy these from Ebay UK seller Pugwash. He has the wheels and suspension arms. They're nice add ons, but by the time you have metal tracks and these metal upgrades your tank will be twice the price.

The rear idlers are a must as well.

YHR, I meant to ask, when you smoked your RX18 board, was it after a few minutes of running around. Or was it a second or two after "giving it the beans"?

It ran for less then a minute. One track was a little clunky, so I think maybe I had I bind. But when it went it damn near blew up. It was a real flame out.

Where's the man and his dog?

What are the accessories and decals like with this tank?

No Decals just stickers. Accessories are OK. All the details on this tank are what came with it, except of course I replaced the plastic wheels and suspension with metal, but the rest of the stuff is Heng Long standard equipment.
