HI GUYS,

Hook up my Elmod system today but it turn out badly, I burn 2 of my HL RX/TX small boards[:@][:@][:@].

IT was POOF!!! then smoke..

The HL small board PCB thin etched wires on the edges burn like fuses?

Can you guys figure out what the heck i did wrong with this setup? Please the see connection I made in the photo.
Is there something wrong here?

The ELmods are alright, the Power LED blinks then steadys ON, also I can hear a something buzzing in the speakers.

NEED HELP BADLY, BLITZ , WACKY WHERE ARE YOU GUYS? HELP...

Quick look, I am not sure about proportional smoker being added maybe Ok, maybe not? But let me keep looking at the rest!

Oh shoot I see IT!!! What is the wire going to the power switch to receiver board???!

Get rid of the red wire from the switch directly to the small board. On the stock boards, it goes to ground, so you're probably shorting positive to ground (through the jumper cable and TK-RX1x board) so the PCB traces burn up as the weakest component.

On the stock tank, that wire is only there to discharge things when the tank is turned off, but if you miswire it, you can damage things. It's not really necessary anyway.

Patrick great drawing though very impressive! Please remove the wire from the drawing and post again, that will be very helpful for first time users or for trouble shooting!

There is it, thanks Rob, Patricks drawing is perfect for the EL MOD with Heng long connection points! Now we need on for the prop version the prop C4! Swathdiver made one for the EL MOD Heng Long with the afterburner!

Dear Guys,

Thanks for the help, got confused with that wire based on the HL pictures I collected, I thought thats the power to the small HL board.

Anyway, got home today and tried again , removing that wire and fixing the burned out sections of the board with jumper wires.

Switch the thing On - ALAS ITS ALIVE, the tank worked very well! Very cool effects! Loud sound.

Got the blast running the tank until the battery went low.....[] Charge it again...can't wait to play again.

I still need to hook up the recoil unit and the lights (front headlight, MG LED, Main Gun flash bulb)
Can you give me some information on how to hook this up?

THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP GUYS! Would'nt figure that one out on my own.
