Jerry, you're more than welcome to rest your weary bones at my place anytime after that long walk!
I'm only on the receiving end of some scuttlebutt for now but think we all may be pleased at what comes out of Hooben assuming their first release is a hit & does well in this current economic climate.

Well Hermill if the quality is what it looks like and the electronics are good, = no problem. They will need to control the price tho. This is great , another manufacturer of R/C TANKS

Chuck didn't I hear you say Elefant somewhere? I want one to make a recovery version and perhaps a Porsche
version of the Tiger competition entry.
I'd walk to the factory if Hooben would make a model of the Famo SdKfz 9 prime mover. For one in 1:10 scale I'd walk there and back again...
I'm not a big fan of modern armor but I'm definitely buzzed for a T-55, it's a classic. Especially a well done model like this one seems to be.

Feng is committed to making this new tank line on the same level as Tamiya but at a much more affordable price. Again, these are kits you build, not RTR "toy" tanks, but with the option of either a FO kit with Tamiya compatible system or as a base kit where you supply your own electronics.

Its confirmed. Hooben's new Elefant is currently in the tooling stage so if all goes to plan you I'm sure all us will have a very nice Christmas ahead.

This is great news! I personally find much satisfaction in assembling these kits. Nothing like seeing it get built a little more each day. Plus, this would give the opportunity for guys to start build logs from the ground up. It would also be nice if they do offer the 'base kit' and 'FO' kit, gives us more flexibility when it comes to electronics.
I hope they bump up the challenger's release. I for one would like to have one!

I agree that a new 1/16 kit maker is very good news for all of us! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
I prefer building myself & have already started lobbying hard for a few conversion parts for this kit. I'd be willing to bet anything related to a Type 59 is already a foregone conclusion.

Yes, thats correct from last I heard.
Feng told me they are still working out kinks on the electronics so the T-55 release is delayed until June. I keep asking to release the base kit but alas, no dice!

I, for one, much prefer the 'Kit' Concept as it is easier to convert, upgrade, modify, and scratch build. The worst part of a Heng Long project is the 'deconstruction'.
The T-55 has so much conversion potential, can we say Ti-67?

I don't believe its been formally released but wouldn't be surprised if its not around 3 times what you'd pay for a new HL KV-1.

That's what I was thinking too, $289.00 to $345.00.
