Hello All. Here's a few more shots of my 1:9 scale Abrams. I've been working on some of the external details like trying to fill up the huge turret bustle or cage. I need to either find or make some light cardboard boxes for MRE cases. All of the pictures I see of real Abrams in Iraq show them carrying a great deal of MREs, water, Pepsi and/or Coke - as well ammo of course. I painted and added carry handles to the "built-in" ammo boxes on the top of the turret so they actually look like, well . . . ammo boxes !!! Now I need to make some decals for them. I also added a couple of spare road wheels to the sides on the bustle. I think I need another tarp and maybe an individual "Alice" pack or two. If anyone knows of a place where you can find somewhat scale pieces such as water cans, etc, let me know. I've looked at places like Toys-R-Us, Wal-Mart, Target, etc, and everything is either too big or too little. I know, it's "fun" to make your own . . . and time consuming.

P.S. I have seen a web-site in the past but don't remember the name (think they are here in the states) that may have what you can use,but it seemed like most of the stuff they sold was 1/15 and 1/16 scale. But at the same time I think they had some bigger scale item's also.Someone here will know and can mabe get you headed in the right direction for those items.Hope you find what you need and again nice workReguards BIGMIG

There are some guys who make stuff for 1/8 scale, but its mostly weapons. Only suggestion I can make is DIY from images. Besides, if you get the knack of it, mebbe the other 1/9 owners will want to buy the parts off you!
Good luck, and the tank looks good!

Back in 2004 or 2005, Wal Mart couldn't give them away. They had at least 6 or 7 or them sitting in clearance for like $40.00!! They are twice as big as the M5 Stuart, I just didn't have the room for one after getting 2 Stuarts.
Nice work on a HUGE tank!

That would be a large undertaking for me. I dont have a lathe or mill which is absolutly nessescary for the road wheels another tubular bits. The hull and turret i could do with a decent set of drawings. I've done alot of metal fabrication in my time and this really is not much different. i'm just not an machinist. Maybe i could get bubbajoexx to help me out. It would be a fun project . Iv'e found a great source for heavy gauge styrene sheets up too 12x 24 inches. I'll try and ost a link to the supplier for those that are interested.

Dear Otto Diesel,
I really admire what you did to your 1/9 Abram, I envy you because when it first came out I planned to do the same exactly, got my hobby friend Ronz Sarviz
from SC to buy me one, he did get it but there is one problem, because it huge it is too costly to send it over to Bahrain (where I live).
That dream ENDED for me.
I even bought kenny kong's MG for it and some Alice packs.
If you like I can send you the MGs plus Alice packs for FREE if you would pay the courier to ship to your place. PM me if you are interested.
I really wanted these things be fitted to your M1 and not just sitting here. In fact there is one guy in this forum who was
interested in buying them, i hesistated and that didn't push through. I was still hoping that my friend could send the tank to me,
I was holding on to it, but NO LUCK. After seing your tank you got to have them, if you want.
See, attached photo.
best regards,
Patrick C.
