Default Help me decide

Hi guys Im fairly new here and to Rc tanking as well but I have been lurking around here for a few days. Im planning on buying my first Tamiya tank but I cant decide between a Tiger 1 and a King Tiger. Perhaps you guys can point out the cons and pros of each one and recommend some upgrades to make it run good and make it last.

Help would be much appreciated Thanks!!

The only difference between the two kits is that the KT tracks are somewhat weaker and without an idler upgrade it can throw tracks under certain conditions. They both have many upgrades and detail items available so it's really up to you how far you want to go with the upgrades.

Adding to what Panther F said, if you are just driving for fun there is no big difference. If you plan to battle with the tank, the King Tiger is a beast that does best in open country. The Tiger is not tiny, but it is the smaller of the two tanks.

Not only can a misadjusted idler throw tracks, it can break them.

Thanks a lot guys for the advise! I kinda lean more towards the look of the Tiger 1 but I wanted to know the quality between both of them.

Hi, Tiger 1 has better tracks. Yes, the King Tiger tracks are weak though there are aftermarket products available. You can't go wrong with Tamiya so go for the one you prefer most- you are likely to return for more after the 1st build. Got 2 Tigers, 3 King Tigers, etc.

I'd buy the King Tiger, then buy a Heng Long Tiger I. This way I'd have both- and a Heng Long Tiger I will not break the bank. The King Tiger is not available from Heng Long- only Tamiya and Matorro (which I hear needs a lot of upgrade). But that's just me....

If it where me King Tiger and your HL Tiger can be made to run like a champ since I upgraded Mine it runs flawless and that is with metal tracks roadwheels and suspension and the modified HL gearboxes

Tha King Tiger is tricky to get setup perfect but wwell worth it in the long run I have 2 KT hershal and KT porsche and enjoy them both the main thing to do is use speed reducers on the gearboxes and it runs great
