Hello,
Does anyone here have any experience with the after-market upgrade for the Pershing idler? I had one installed on my Tam Pershing for the longest time, with metal tracks, but it eventually failed (after a year of light use) and stripped the teeth out due to the extra pulling force of the heavy tracks. Has anyone else experienced this? On the longest setting the stock idler pulls the track too tight which compresses the rear suspension while the middle setting leaves a lot of slack in my Impact metal tracks. Adding/removing links doesn't get the tension right either. The story is the same on an old pair of Kenny Kong tracks as well. The original vinyl tracks fit great on the middle idler setting. I like the weight and handling of metal tracks but don't want to blow another $30 for the idler upgrade if it isn't strong enough to do the job. Thanks.
