OK, 1 meter does not make any difference in general. The new system gives an alternative supplier at a much lower price.

As for advantage, I looked at some vids of your club combat, and notice at least one tank with an advantage..there is no muzzle flash from it when firing, so no one knows when he has fired, and can not coordinate thier reply. Is this the one with the new system?

1 meter makes a hell lot of difference, esp when you battle on open ground with no buildings. As for the muzzle flash, did you know that video records at a certain rate that most times it cannot capture the muzzle flash? I work in the video industry thus I thought that this little fact is common knowledge, but apparently its not. Unless you have a high end camera with variable framerate settings, sometimes the video does not capture the muzzle flash. I assure you, all our tanks have muzzle flash.

Dude you are just nitpicking now, I am just trying to state facts esp when I have to put up with this discrepency when I battle. If more ppl have the system and the advantage then I would be less appalled. Rite now its only one guy and he is one of the ppl in impact that has the advantage. Now tell me, where is teh fairness in that? Why dun revert back to the original until his company releases the IBU to everyone?

In teh end of the day it shows how much integrity he has, he has no quams about winning with his current configuration, I even let him participate in the official tamiya competition with this hack but did tell him to remove it yet he has n not done so. So tell me, what you think of his mindset? What tactics can you come up with when someone is bent on cheating?

Why are you defending this IBU so much Sevo? Do you have a stake in Impact or ETO? In the end of the why should one have an advantage over the others in terms on technology? I do battle with my HL/DBC tank, which has a shorter range than the standard tamiya but I did not make the rest of the club follow the standard, in fact I still manage to somehow beat tamiya equipped tanks. I am ok of having a disadvantage towards the standard(which is a tamiya).

The main argument here is why can't we follow closer to the standard which all our members barr one has. Why must 1 individual think that in order to win his only option is to cheat? If this goes on, are we going to have only TBU equipped and IBU equipped tanks battle seperately? Laslty why should those that already have TBUs have to get an IBUs just to remain competitive?

Ok I'm not getting in a debate here but I need some help. I got the Impact Battle Unit today in the mail (got it b/c it's cheaper and wouldn't have to wait from a Hong Kong seller). My question is to those that have the IBU, what size drill bit do I need to drill into my Tiger I mantlet in order to fit the emitter?
I'll post pictures of my Tiger I when my decals for Tiger I #331 of the schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 are on (waiting for decals to arrive) and tank is dullcoated.

My impression was that they (the Tamiya and IMPACT) are the same size. If that is so then a 6MM drill bit is what is needed.

I just checked (I have one too) and they are the same size and the Tamiya instructions calls for a 6MM drill bit.

The Tamiya Tiger I does not use the tube mount for the emitter that rests on the barrel. So no depth measurement is needed using the Tiger I LED mount.

Ok I've got the Impact IBU emitter in place and the receiver setup properly....trouble is I can't test it to see if it's working (don't have another tank), with a Tamiya Battle system you can point it at a white wall (if I remember correctly)...fire and take your own hit (that's how you can test a TBU)....I've tried that with the Impact IBU but no dice. Can someone with a Tamiya TBU tell me where they hook up the receiver unit to the Tamiya MFU and also the IR Emitter. Because on the Impact instructions it says to hook up the receiver to CN1 on the Tamiya MFU and the IR Emitter to CN2 on the Tamiya MFU.

Thanks,
Pzjgr

You have to set the tank in test mode for it to take its own hit. Please refer to your manual as to how to set it to test mode as I do not have it off the top of my head.
