Default The TIGER Lives!!!

Wow, and Super Wow!!!

Well thanks to so many of you on here. Phil, Bubba, Swath,l Willy, Steve, Bill and about a hundred more My dream TIGER 304 Late Version 101 LSSAH lives!

Just a few minor (I Hope) issues. Maybe you guys can shed some light on.

How do you turn off the head light?

When I move the Left Stick down I get the motor recoil.

I have no operation of the Prop Smoker. I wired it to a switch.

I have no recoil LED Flash when the turret in the 12 o'clock position

This thing will also start to recoil and will not stop unless I give it a turret command.

I only get the recoil flash with the turret in the 3 o'clock position

Maybe you wise Heng Longers can help an ole tanker out.

Thanks again! WOW!

You have some wires hooked up wrong. I think you need to reverse the blue and Yellow wire connect points. Down on the left stick is supposed to give you BBL elevation. This means the wire from the elevation motor goes to the blue heng long wire. The yellow wire should go to the Recoil motor.

I don't like using colors, because with Heng long you never know. Get a volt meter and do some checking. Find out which wire goes live when you move the Left stick down. This is the wire you need to hook to the elevation motor.

Without seeing how you wired it, I don't know. A couple of things are off though. The 3 main wires going into the turret are 2 grounds and 1 power. The grounds are turned on and off by the board to activate the barrel elevation and gun motor.

With regards to the smoker. So you say you wired a remote switch to turn it on and off? How about the switch on the board? Is it possible you left it on the off position? I do that EVERY time!

Thanks for the kind words, it's was my pleasure!

Don,

So where are the photos?

I just got through reading an early sea story of yours & have to ask if your next tank will be a Char B?

"Put Ze Linez Over Zee Cleats!" I laughed so hard, I had tears rolling down my cheeks like your CO!

Okay Fella,

I have it fixed and soon the Tiger will roll! THe problem it seems was the rectifier Mod. Once I pulled that it all worked. I might have it in wrong.

The only other problem and this is a small one is there is no power coming from the port of the RX-18 for the smoker. I can live without that though.

You guys have been great!!

Hey Don... What does the instructions that come with the recoil unit say and then we can go from there with the other wires!

In other words word for word what does it say about where to put all the wires coming off of the atermarket recoil unit??

Hey Blitz!

Well to be honest there were no insructions. Just a video I had to download from the TANL ZONE site. I got the little jewel back together, but I'll have to take it back apart the recoil works but now the flash does not operate.

But if everything worked perfect all the time then everyone would be in this hobby. Oh yeah and I had to move the anntenna as it bumped the sotrage bin.

Let me see what else........Oh The arm forthe hatch snapped off (No Biggie) I can fix that. Just you guys watch out for small cracks in the metal arm of the hinge.

I did a little run in and checked the sprokets. Be sure you folks check these as they seem to loosen up a bit.

If you have installed the track tensioner, check the set screw on your idlers.....Opps Forgot that one.

Still need to do a few detail items....Brackets for the tow cables. Needto get some decals for the double keys on the front and back.

Need to add another bracket on the Ax.

Wow this thing with all the metal must wiegh in at least 15 lbs! This is the most fun frustration I've had in a long time.

However as soon as I have my pennies all saved up TIGER 304 will go back to the Maintence Train for a full PROP Elmod Conversion.

My first TIGER has the ELmods and wow the difference is amazing!
