Well, I took out the gears and replaced them with the ones from Willy (Impact) also the belts are now from Impact. The electronics also went out into the garbage can, and was replaced wil Elmod

It is just a large and very huge tank now Master of the battlefield

The rust on the pipes is made from the 2 factor rust kit

cheers

too bad the KT is a basket case out of the box.. Has anybody actually had luck with it, just running the way it is out of the box? Why are the electronics so bad? If I get the KT I will definitely swap out the electronics for HL stuff but I still like to know what makes the stock stuff so bad.

Your KT looks good steenv [8D]

Well lets see .
1. the gearbox is not that great and works better with hl or any other metal gear box.
2. the smoker makes alot of noice and is crap .
3. the turret gear motor is weak and slow going one way .
4. the sound sucks on some of the older KT Blitz thinks the newer out the last 3 months sounds better.
other wise looks good and a lot of fun after you do the upgrades would like to see them with recoil and flash now if you take on this mission the turret wiring is not all the way the same as the HL Tanks but shoot the HL Tanks wiring is not the same from Tank to Tank ether the red and black power wires are backword on the motorro KT so look out for that or you will fry a board .

thanks

kcklank, sounds good with the elmod.. Is yours airsoft or IR ? So you're running the stock gearboxes and it's been ok I take it? What is the problem with the stock gearboxes anyways?

well If I do decide on the KT which I probably will, i'll just run it the way it is for the time being untill something goes then I'll do the swap over.. I'll make sure to already have the parts so when it does go i'll have them on hand.. I don't mind about the turret speed, the KT didn't have a fast traversing turret anyways.. It's going to boil down between the King Tiger or the JagdPanther..

Also, those Tiger1 track tensioners, are those an aftermarket piece you can purchase or are they custom made?

thanks again for your replies [8D]

Here is my upgrade build and you can buy those rear idlers from asitam or rctank.de!

Also tankzone has some specifically made for the Matorro King Tiger, but it will cost a few bucks!

so it's proportional in stock form? I remember somebody telling me it wasn't? Well that's good to know..

SO what is the biggest problem with the electronics? can somebody give me some details ? I'm just curious whats so bad about them. Are the boards similar to HL at all or different?

How much are you guys paying for them? I noticed they went up in price quite a bit on mato's site $238 cdn but on ebay rcdynasty is selling for $100 us.. Isn't that mato on ebay? Doesn't make sense.. $100 cheaper on ebay than the site....[&:]

Ebay the shipping can really get you, the tank I saw on the rcdynasty said 109 plus 50.00 shipping thats about what I charge! But I fully inspect the tank and make sure its all working before I send it out! And some folks feel its worth it to pay me the extra 10 bucks in for this considering the Matorro King Tiger has about a 25 percent deftect rate!

The boards are better the sound is better I still have not had the chance to push a set to the limits and run metal gears straight off of them! But they have most definately improved from when the tank first came out!

Hi Guys,
Being new to tanking and living in Australia, can anyone tell me where I can get the parts that you guys fit to your tanks.
I have bought the Matorro King Tiger and had problems with a non working controller and a broken smoke unit.
My supplier has replaced the c/unit and will give me another smoke unit , to replace the damaged one.
He also sells limited parts , tracks, wheels etc for Heng Long tanks.
But I dont know where to get the better hardware.
At the moment I have the King Tiger and the Heng Long Tiger 1,and a Snow leopard, both non S&S.
and I am waiting delivery on the Heng Long German Tauch Panzer111 Ausf H tank with S&S..
I wish I had found this hobby years ago, its becoming addictive.
Regards.

Are the plastic tracks on the Matorro KT wider than the tracks on the HL Tiger 1 or are the metal upgrade tracks only wider? The tracks seem wider than the Tiger1 and they should be if it's scale.

The stock boxes are real weak but for effect they are probably not too different from the real thing.

If I was going to get one, I would get the newer version, as that first Matorro KT had a pinkish, rouge color in place of what should have been red brown on the cammo paint job. I think both of them have that hump/bulge in the lower front glacis plate that shouldn't be there also. Wonder why they had to incorporate that, as the Tamiya version didn't need such a thing for its gearbox clearence.

Upgrade the GearBox, here are pictures of two types that you can use, I used the old box for the width refferance and to double check, and you can raise the front sprockets now for a more accurate look, but make sure you don't go to high! And I added one pic showing it is very easy to remove the bubble, cut it out flatten it and glue it back in,paint it!

OH yes Steenv!

Those are 2 different tanks, one is the Impact TU and it is a beast on patrol! The other I installed the Pershing Gerbox for another customer and it was a big improvement over the stock!
