Darkith. Have you ever considered making a DBC style unit that does not use HL parts. I am building a HE leopard that is going to use a Sabertooth 2X10 for traction (too heavy for HL ESC...16+ pounds) and a standard RC transmitter. I want a module that is compatible with the Tamiya's battle system and has full sound, momentum, canceled superspin, etc.., but there doesn't seem to be anything out there. I thought maybe I would program up a Basic Atom to process the RC servo inputs before sending them out to the servos and ESC's but I would still need to find a way to get sound and of course the battle system. I really like your modules and when I'm done with the leopard, I think I'm going to put them on a few of my other tanks. Breed

Nick at RCTankHobby.com has a pretty good kit that may work for this application, I got one and was very impressed with it!

I've thought about it, and there have been a few requests. It's significantly more complicated as there are a multitude of ESCs and radios, each with slightly different signal specifications and capabilities (knobs, switches, channels, etc). I'll keep it in mind, but nothing definite at this point.

If anybody else has any suggestions, I'm always interested to hear them! Can't promise delivery, but I will consider it.

Cheers,
David

Maybe I can help you with the specifications. I have the ability to do the design, just don't have the time and don't want to market and build them. Let me think some more into it.

Yeah unfortunately Nicks battle curcuit is only for the IR capabillity. It works really well, I have it on my 88mm gun set up. I was wondering the same thing. i have a hobbyZone M1A1 comming soon. It looks really good as far as correctness in detail. I dont know much else about it. I plan on converting it to HL, but am going to look at other options. Oh and hey blitz , i didnt forget about you, i'm working my budget out for my battle systems for 2 of my HL tanks. I will have some questions for you soon.

No Problem Panther G, and remember I always give a little discount to RC universe members!

Yes!

If you want to match the "Tamiya" spec at speed reduction you will need some sort of calibration/setup routine. The mix of possibilities is quite a task so I didn't pursue it (personally I found the speed reduction annoying, before the hyped gearboxes so you could move after a few hits). Shoot until you die, then stay dead (why I have a push button reset).

I have a prototype setup for speed reduction but it varies with radio and ESC, so no consistency. If the market will allow some variance then I may pursue it, but no way for tight tolerances. I'm playing around with some programmed devices that may help, but that will be a while. I'm moving soon and have to set up shop, getting settled, yadda, yadda, yadda . . .

Blitz, thanks for the positive comments, glad you are happy.

Also please forward ideas for new projects (after the move of course)! When I'm not moving snow, chasing moose away from the house, walking the dog, chopping wood, cutting a path through our woods . . . . - I like a distraction!

I've begun working on this again. Hopeing to make it kind of an open source type of thing. Started writing code for it on an Arduino Mega. Does anyone have good technical information on the tamiya battle system as far as IR Led signal? When I get further along i'll post my code.
