Look what I'm thinking of picking up for my daily commuter vehicle? I think I should be able to cut off at least 30 minutes to the drive (no one is going to slow me down

Question is if he's allowed to run it on the open road.
No weight was given, but mine only weighed 12 tons and I was always getting hassled about the steel tracks, even thought they were listed as flat grouser "street track". It's a real hassle to have to truck-trailer something like that everywhere....load-unload, then parking, drive short distances to where you are going then bring the rig to it for transport and white knuckle driving because of morons on the road not considering braking distance needed. That's why I sold mine and went to the Dodge WC. Even the cute M-29 Weasel was a hassle, albeit nowhere near the weight. Track vehicles are a a lot of fun, but the logistics and hassle from the authorities are a nightmare. Upkeeep is not that bad, but with a major breakdown, you're out there by yourself and in everyone's way. [:@]
Real nice work and looks like really quality mechanical know-how, but sounds like he has the interrior set up like a plush civvie van. With all that work, think it would be better to at least put on more realistic interleaf wheels and set the 88 up with propane. [:-] A tank is a tank is a tank. [8D] You can buy a decent running Sherman for $45-60m.
