Did you go with an AM mantlet as well? If you're staying with the stock one you will want to get this,

it's pretty self-explanatory. If you purchased another mantlet then you won't have that problem.

A couple of nice items to have are
A metal elevation arm. It's not if, but when the original one will break.
Close in defense weapon. Officially listed for the KT, but the Panther had one too. Schumo makes a very nicely detailed one.
Metal headlight. The stock one is plastic, and inevitably breaks off. I also recommend adding a light in it. Cool for running at night.
Tamiya Battle unit. Very nice. If you haven't battled...you should.
DT's emitter tube. Installs in a hole you must drill in your mantlet. Very nice for battling, and makes for a clean looking tank. Otherwise you've got to use the stupid barrel clamp and run the wire down a hole.
None of these are needed, just nice. Panther's a great tank, enjoy.

I would say bearings for the road wheels but I see you already have them assembled. You cant add them in once there are together. One other thing to have that is a very good idea is the Daryl Turner gearbox brace too stiffen up the front hull. also you can drill through the speaker box where the screws that hold it together and through bolt it too the lower hull. this really helps stiffen the entire lower hull.
One thing about the close in defense weapon. Most tanks nver even saw one lwet alone had one installed. Very rare to see a tank that actually had one. Atleast with the Panthers that is. I have yet to see a picture of a Panther that has it installed.

This statement is incorrect I suggest you try researching this subject try reading the Panzer Tract's series of books by Thomas L Jentz and Hilary Doyle who have spent over 30 years researching Panzer's and by your statement you are saying that the work they have done and the pictures they have are all wrong, close defence weapons where introduced on the A model though not fitted to all some had a blanking plate over the hole by the time the G model came out a few month's latter this was resolved.
Hear are some pictures that you couldn't find of Panthers with close defence weapons the last picture is of the inside of a Panther A turret recovered from Russia now in Sinzenheim Germany

Nice pics! Tom Jenz and Hillary Doyle rock. I love to take Tom Jentz's tank quizzes, which are in reality, atomic skullbusters for armor fans.
I love how its their pet peeve to correct all the erroneous information about armor out there. A good example is their discussion on Dr. Porsche's Tiger II turret (which Porsche never made...He designed the chassis only, and Krupp made the turret). Apparently, to hear someone say "Porsche Turret" just makes them cringe... Oh well, those same people probably think Porsche is a one syllable word too... You could correct them, but why?

RE: Working on the Tamiya Panther
It was said in the bookPanther MEdium Tank by OSprey , By Stephen hart thast this is the mount for the weapon, Not tha actuall weapon it self. And I did see that coment in other sources but cant rememberwhich book it was. Now it is possible that they where incorrect, but it was 2 cvopletely different sources,. If I'm wrong I have no problem with that. I do not claim to be an expert, Just an enthusiast. That piec in the pics is infact part of the mechanism. But most of the actuall weapons where never installed. To myknowledge. again only going by what liturature I have.

RE: Working on the Tamiya Panther
Hey Panther G
I've been reading so many different books to get detailing and paint info. seems in one book they say it was there and in others they say something else.[:@]
Have found this to be true on a lot of details, I know your talking about the Panther but for others out there that don't know what the Close defense weapon is (I didn't) here is a couple of pics of it from the outside and a couple of good ones from the inside of a King Tiger.

I have found many inacuracies in the Osprey books they are cheep but the information is of poor quality I find that you are better paying more for the book to get correct information I can highly recommend the Panzer Tract's series they are very accurate in this case you do get what you pay for
