Default STEEL GEARS

Tried to order the steel gearbox from RC COMMAND for my sons's Pershing and they are out of stock. Are there other vendors who carry them that anyone can suggest. Thanks!

Are these really the super quiet gears? I know the stock HL gears are pretty noisy and wondered if they are a much improved change?

I have the plastic gears and the steel gears. I can't speak to the other metal gears, but I can tell you that the steel gears are quiet, well-made and almost don't need any break-in. Awesome set and if you're going from plastic to metal, I recommend putting out the cash for the steel gears.

I'm just weighing the diff between the stock metal gears to the steel ones.

If you dont need 3:1 gears the steel are the way to go. They donot require breaking in becuase they are cut not cast. The reason for breaking in the metal gears is to take off the rough edges from casting. And i wouldnt be suprised to see Bill have 3:1 Steel geared boxes sometime in the future.
