RE: Moving Tiger 1 Antenna
Well I can tell you what I did.
I purchased one of those correct scale antennas from Welsh Dragon. Then removed the old HL wire and filled the hole and sanded it down.
When you place the new antenna be sure you put it as far to the right as you can. Trust me you will bump it with the turret if you don't watch.
Once selected I also purchased from Welsh the correct base. I drilled the hole and CA'd the base in. Then I made a suppoet from square tube styrene. The was glued to the hull onthe side with WELD-PRO. Once cured I just screwed the wire from the RX along with the scale antenna to the tube and bang....Done.
Just besure you cap that anntenna when not running your tank with somthing like an eraser. You could put an eye out with that sharp point.

Are you just looking to relocate the stock antenna? Here's where it goes... just unscrew the black wire from underneath, pull out the brass piece and drill a new hole in this location [I don't remember the diameter drill bit I used, so just check with the existing hole before you fill it. If the brass connector doesn't come loose, someone here recommended touching it with a hot soldering iron for a few seconds to heat it up and that worked great for me.

Don, are you saying that you are using the scale aftermarket antenna alone? What kind of range does that give you? I thought antenna length was critical in reception [sm=confused.gif]
I like the looks of the scale antennas, and was going to do what you did but thought the antenna was to short to use as an actual antenna. [I was going to get one when I was using the internal antenna mod but didn't like the loss of range the internal was giving me and switched back to the factory antenna and just moved it]

RE: Moving Tiger 1 Antenna
I have done RC subs that use small antenna and recieve signals under 10 feet of fresh water. So I thought little problem would be had by using the scale tank antenna. Truth be told without an antenna you would be okay up to about 20 feet.
With the scale antenna I get about 100 feet, maybe a bit less.
