New Battle System RCcommand
I see RCcommand has their new battle sytem out. Looks like it is fully assembled and ready to go for $95.00!!!!
Incudes sound card, IR sensor(apple), and of course the brains of the battle system, all for $20.00 more then you would pay for a Tamiya sensor. I would buy one except I don't have a tank to put it in ,as mine are all equipped with Darkith DBCs,
Bill
Does this slow down the tank after each succesive hit?
Is their any recoil blocking?
Is their any momentum?
Does this provide for an LED flash along with the IR ?
How does it interface with the HL electronics. Is it Plug and Play?
I would be very interested in hearing about this unit, and the sound card that comes with it. When someone purchases one please write up a little review for RCU, and share your experiences with us.

This is excellent news! I was reading this: "as well as battle song, which is played through the RX18 sound amp. In addition, the sound card comes with a library of over 3300 different sound clips in German, US, British, Russian, Italian, and French. Software is pre-installed on the SD card so you can put the card into your computer and enjoy editing and installing your own sound clips."
I don't know about playing music but "Kelly's Heroes" does come to mind! It's a definite must have to try out for sure. Gotta try it out, I wonder if Bill has any already installed to promo for us like in video form?

Wow, looks great. I'm gonna take a closer look at this when I get more time. I don't seehow you can go wrong for 95 bucks, especially if you get 3300 SFX and all the equipment you need to run the system.Am I imagining things or does that apple have a USB plug sticking outta the bottom? Now if only the SNOW would go away.............. It's hindering my ability to let my Tiger out

Just wondering you don't have to have a song playing all the time when using the tank with this system do you? Hope you can turn this function off...

Yes, the battle/march songs can easily be turned on/off by the simple press of a button.

Hey Bill,
This looks pretty cool and a great price! What timing, I kepttelling my wife I need to make a video,,I was going to do a video show a T-34 with Russian March using the DBCRC2 ,, well there are a lot of new guys so I'll show it anyway its still a good option for those that want to use a hobby radio instead of the stock Heng long!

Since this system has a sound system in it any chance that later on a add on board would come out that would give you better engine sound and the clanking of tracks just like or close to EL-mod or Tamiya sound system . Other wise nice system there Bill.
Thanks
Jimmy

We've been working, concurrently, on a second sound board for this system. The current one will house the battle sounds and the one in development will house the all other tank sounds. The sounds from the stock mainboard will be totally omitted. The sounds will be specific to a particular tank. Before I get flooded with "When?", I don't know. We were hoping to have this produced at the same time, but due to additional challenges with it's development, we made the decision to release the system now with just the battle sounds and use of the stock tank sounds. However, when released, the current system set up is considered and the second board will be available for purchase separately for those that have already purchased the RCC Battle System. And yes, it will be just as easy to add as it is to install the complete system now.

Bizzzzz I am every were well not every were but it just seems what every HL owner has been asking for better sound that they can add on along with the battle system thats better then HL has out but at a reasonable price I like Hl cause you dont have to spend a arm and a leg if you dont want a Tamiya and the things that you are getting like the metal lower hulls and now the sound system can be added on as they go along at there own pace and can still run the tank as they upgrade them .
Thanks

Oh my! I think I've died an gone to RC Tank heaven, Once I am finished with my elmod install on my KT, I plan on two projects, a tiger 1 and a pershing or sherman once released. The original plan was to have both HL battle ready just to toy around with, but now I believe this is definately the way to go. So is this basically a revamped dbc/dbu, with sounds or is it a whole other system? I didnt bother reading everyones post I was too giddy looking at the shiny new toy.
Wade,
oh and Phil if you read this, thanks once again for the KT and elmod. Your customer service is outstanding.

This sounds almost to good to be true! Just one silly question. I'm not really that big into IR combat. Do I have to install the IR system to get all the other goodies?

And another silly question? Since it uses the RX-18, do you have to do the mods to the board eg. adding the diode and modding the transmitter for the firing, hope that made sense, not sure if I even understood what I just asked lol
