Default PIII's Outing

We had a very successful dat today (I think) ..... latest piccy's of my PIII, When we finished doing what we had to do today we took it outside to see daylight.

I was very impressed with the results even if I do say so myself

The winterketten tracks do make thePz IIIILlook that much better, and your weathering sureputs my 502nd sPzAbt example to shame

How about a step by step on that paint and weathering tequnique. It is the best paint scheme i have ever seen on a Pz III. That is also my favorite version and turret # for the PzIII

Hi Panther

Painting and weathering tequniques ..... well I'll be honest with you, this was our first time at doing this sort of thing so most of it was trial and error, we started things off by getting lifecolour panzer grey ( it was the closest colour we could get to original panzer grey), we then Lightly sprayed over the top of that with lifecolour white and left that for a few days .... we then got a soft toothbrush dipped it in thinners and scrubbed the complete tank creating the washed off whitewash effect, after that we did the usual 5% black 95% thinners wash over the top closely followed by the dirty brown wash,   The splattered mud is acually "GaleForceNine Snow Flock" its a simulated snow covering but it sucks up paint beautifully part of the "flames of war" series of modeling. the turret numbers and crosses, I sat one night with a Coke can, sharp knife, a micrometer and a lot of patience and made stencils, the exhaust was plan Humbrol rust but we used bi-carbonate of soda as a flakey rust look and did the same for the track but used all three dirty, muddy, rusty washes and eventually got to where we are now ........ It's still not finished though, I'm not happy with the muddy look at the ront so that will be coming off again !!
