Had a great time out there today and it was nice to meet you in person Thomas. The battlefield is looking great and I liked the airstrip added in as well. What was real awesome was the Forces of Valor converted die-cast VVSS Sherman Firefly running Tamiya electronics. My camera was dead so I couldn't get a picture unfortunately. The KT lost out in the beginning as he threw a track but stilled stayed in the action and kept the Sherman's at bay for a good length of time before finally succumbing to friendly fire. I really enjoyed seeing the new KV-1 in action as well as the Sturmtiger. Hopefully next time I the finance department permits installation of a battle system in at least one tank so I can join in the fun!

TEXAS SP and everyone else who came by and said HI,,,,thank you and we hope to see you again soon at our regular monthly battle days...

IT was great to meet you all.... Thanks to Willy and Eric who were the guests with the miles most traveled... Willy from TENNESSE,
and Eric from THE NETHERLANDS...

I am happy to say that Eric is now the proud owner of "FLAT FOOT FLOOGIE"... He has adopted the Jumbo and taken her to The Netherlands to fight on against the Axis Forces...

Thanks to Willy for sharing so many helpful tech tips in his 1st visit with us.... We look forward to next year Willy!

We were very blessed to have RC UNIVERSE Reporter/Moderator Ken visit us at Bomberfield... Thanks for all the great coverage!

Look for a full report in the next 1-2 Months in the RCUNIVERSE MAGAZINE.

For now he has started posting photos of the ENTIRE BOMBERFIELD/TEXAS ARMOR EVENT here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9111141

Look for more pictures coming in the next few days on that thread and also here...

OVERALL , WE had 3 HUGE days of non-stop battling including NIGHT BATTLES FRIDAY and SATURDAY which were AWESOME... THE TEXAS ARMOR RAILWAY Running at night was a sight to see.... the Lights in the Cab were lit up as were the Diesel Headlights...looked so cool as it ran down the track weaving in and out of the forest, hills, oilfield, and then made its way through the tunnel... (thanks widow61 for getting that loco up to operational status again)!
THe smoking buildings looked even more realistic since there was no wind and the light effects on the smoke just made it all the more
realistic... and when you fired the MG's and Main guns...all those special effects outdoors in the night are just crazy cool !!!
More fun is when you get to "LIGHT UP 2 or more opponents" HA!

WEll... the daytime battles were made even more fun thanks to MIKE MALONEY's great Live Action Commentary...He gave the Spectators a Play by Play, action narrative and Battle Scenario Update as the battle raged on between sides for control over
different parts of the battlefield and also during other Scenario based games...
The crowds responded with cheers for the ALLIED FORCES or Boos for the AXIS FORCES!

Can't wait for next year.. we are already planning more features to incorporate with the battles, audience and YOU!!!!!!

Mark Your calendars now and ATTEND NEXT YEAR , 3rd Weekend in SEPTEMBER for TEXAS ARMORS ANNUAL EPIC BATTLE WEEKEND 2010 in conjunction with the ANNUAL B-17 FLY-IN/BIG BIRD EVENT !
YOU don't want to miss the action, fun, comradarie, and all the cool events that happen on the same property.. ME-109's and P-51s fly overhead while we battle on.... Our Home Field is located at: www.bomberfieldusa.com

Well, as I sit here trying to recover my voice which is quite horse from announcing on both days, I just wanted to post a few pics that I took, sadly these are not during the battles, as I was announcing and just a bit busy doing that, but these are during are down times just to show some of you gentlemen what our battlefield looks like. The pics of the water fountain in the town square is fully operational! THANKS Jason for providing that peice..it was a hit with all of the tankers as well as the crowds that watched as I overheard many in the crowd "Look, that fountain is really putting out WATER!!"

And as Tomas has stated, It was a REAL PLEASURE to meet Willy after all of these years after reading his many posting and Eric from the Netherlands, who is now an honorary Texan, Gentlemen,...Thank you both for coming down and playing with us!

RCKen..... Thank YOU for coming as well,..it was a pleasure and a delight to meet with you and thank you for all of the pics and video's that you took in HD!
Cant wait to see them in RCU MAGAZINE

Yes!, Mark your calanders now for next year folks!

Dear Tomas and everybody else from Texas armor and the bomberfield and Eric from Holland and Ken from RCU
I had a blast and want to thank everybody for the exceptional hospitality I received from everyone !
I am looking forward to make it down there again ( for a longer time , not just one day )
and to bring some of my own stuff .
( hopefully I can also “drag†some of our east-coast tankers with me ! )

I hope that some of the quick-tips I told some of you guys will help you to have even more fun with your tanks .

Mike is a trip , I love his live-action commentaries during the battles ! Very cool !

Can’t wait to see the full coverage and videos from Ken .

Since I haven’t seen a group photo of us tanker’s , I like to add this one here

See you all again ( hopefully ) soon !

Willy

I had a great time with everyone at Bomber Field this weekend, as usual. [8D] I'm working on a video and will post it here either tonight or tomorrow.

On a side note, maybe we should limit the pictures strictly to the tanks and the battlefield.....several of us have faces made for radio.

OK, just a few more pics that will SURELY make you sit up and take notice! This happened SO FAST I had to run back and get my camera from the club house on Sunday morning that the morning's sun started to dry out the mud! Can you say WATER PROOFING and FORDING? The proof is in the pudding guys! Yes, that's Tomas's KV that did this!

Just watched the video on Youtube. Excellent job shooting and editing video of the event. Great sweeping wide angle shots. Captured the feel of the tanks and terrain.

Hereby I like to thank everybody who was at the annual sept battle weekend 2009. For me it was very impressive to ride with you in this great scenery. Many thanks to Tomas and Erin Sandoval who invited me to spend this weekend with you all. Tomas, thanks for your great support, hospitality and lending me your tanks to participate in the battles. Mike Lunan for letting me stay during the night in his tent, Willy for his experience in rc modelling and Mike for his enthousiasm to the public and everybody else who I forgot.

I hope I'll meet you again in future, at Bomberfield or a BTN field in the Netherlands. I made a report of this weekend on the BTN site (in dutch I'm sorry, but lot's of pics):
