I picked up my first HL Jagdpanther the other day (airsoft version). I was surprised to see that the barrel on this tank was made of a solid turned aluminium tube. I was expecting a barrel like the Matorro KT where I could easily upgrade it (I've upgraded 2 of the KT barrels already) I took out the stock barrel and attempted to bore out the end where the airsoft unit is inserted to allow for my upgraded airsoft gun. Well, after about 2 hours of drilling (I used progressive larger drill bits) I was finally able to insert my upgraded gun/barrel. Needless to say my drilling wasn't straight so the bb would hit the outer wall the barrel. To make a long story short I had to trash the stock Jagdpanther barrel and figure out another way. I was going to use an olde Tamiya KT barrel I had lying around but thought about custom making a barrel that fit my upgraded airsoft unit and look real enough to pass as a 8.8cm L71 cannon. So I cut up an old fishing rod I had to make the narrow end of the barrel. I also had acquired on ebay an muzzle break for a KT. To make the thicker part of the barrel I used brass tubing (successing thickness) I cut the tube using a plumbers cutting tool. In the end it worked out better than I had expected. And it shoots great. I guess "If at first you don't succeed, try try again"
