Ah had a problem with 1st post sorry about that. Alright I just got a Heng Long M41 Walker, got it out of the box and ran great till the battery died. I charged it for 6 hours, when and put it back in the tank and nothing happend. Lights didn't come on... control does nothing. However the smoke system still works. Anyone have any ideas? I didn't damage the tank in any way

Look under the battery tray and give the crystal a little jiggle. Make sure it is seated. You might have to carfully pull it out and gently bend the progs a bit and then put it back in.

It's also a good idea to invest in a decent battery. The ones that come with the tank are junk. Of the three HL's I've purchased, two didn't work [charger said they had a bad cell] and the other only gives about 10 minute run time. I'm using the Trinity Reference batteries. The 3000 mAh runs well over and hour, and I just upgraded to the 3600 mAh and haven't been able to run them yet. The Trinity are also a bit smaller and fit in the HL battery compartment with room to spare for the wire and connectors. The 3000 - 3600 can be found on the net for around $20-$25

Would the crystal effect the tank not turning on?As in the lights not coming on and it not moving etc. And as for the battery why would the smoke system turn on but not the lights?

Oh Yeah,
The crystal on my Tiger gave me fits. I had just done all the mods. RX-18-Recoil, Cooling fan, ice cream maker (Only kidding) and tested it and she worked fine. Then when i buttoned it up. Nothing happened. So I took it all apart traced all the wires and still nothing. So then I just happened to pull the crystal out and put it back in and Bam! she fired right up. I still have to give it a tap now and again.

Hey McOden
I know nuttin about electronics but when you say nothing worked but the smoker, I`m thinkin
your smoker was not working either, but your main board probably fried. That is probably where the smoke came from. Anyway as I said I know nuttin, but the experts on here will get this figured out for you.

Well on the tank there are 2 switches one turns on the smoke system and the main one that turns the tank on itself. Now when I turn on the main one nothing happens, however when i turn on the smoke system it comes on and makes nose but still no lights and it wont move.

McOden,
I would still suspect the battery. I have had other functions work on my tank and it still wouldn't move Tried a know good battery from another tank and whalla. If you have a multimeter, you can measure the voltage of the battery. If that's good, then I would agree with beesknees and that maybe the board blew.
If it hasn't been to long since you recieved your tank, you may try contacting customer service from the site you bought it from.
Good luck and I hope this doesn't sour your appetite for the hobby.

Open her up and take some pictures of it,, that way we can all see whats going on! It maybe if its a brand new tank then the 2 pin plug for the power has wiggled loose enough that your tank won't start but the smoker unit engine still moves! Does is actually still put out smoke or can you just hear the engine moving? Either way open it up unless you are just going to return it, but 90 percent of the time is something simple! Then again it has happened rare but happens the new RX-18 board blowing!

Yah I've contacted the hobby site I bought it from still waiting for their tech to call me back. As for opening it up thats the hard part I've tried... got a stripped screw under it and she wont come open. Gonna hit up Radioshack later today and test the battery =D Btw thanks for all the help and support =)
