He wants a gearbox for the Blizzard, after looking at the blizzard my susgetion probably will not work! Do you have any pictures of the set up you are working with, there are a lot of guys here that can probably steer you in the right direction? More info?

540 and 500 size motors are significantly bigger than 400 and 380-size motors, and also much more powerful. I would be very surprised if Heng Long gearboxes are up to the challenge, for any long-term applications. However, if it's a short-term project that doesn't need to last for years, it might be possible. Another possibility is to make your own gearbox.
out of curiosity, what sort of project are the gearboxes and motors for?

Correct im looking to make the Blizzard into a tank style set up,dual motors, one motor per track,I have ways to do it but its not cheap,I can use 2 Axial SCX10 trannies, eached coupled to the track shaft via ladder chain/sprockets like the ones on the blizzard,But like I said, costly.I was hoping there was some cheap tank gearboxes that use 540 cans,I will more than likely machine and make my own set ups.Im installing a Tamiya Blackfoot Extreme body and I want real track action for mud,The Blizzard diff set up is horrible for mud.......Cause its made for snow, lol

Hi,
I'm new to the hobby of RC and have purchased a few tanks to get started HL the Tamyia's are expensive and down the road I hope to pick one up. I did buy to HL tanks airsoft Tiger I and Pershing. they where cheap I paided 42.00 each I know they have plastic gears I'm sure haven't opened it up yet a little nervious about maybe breaking it. In soft dirt I noticed it slips and makes a gridding kind of noitce like gears slipping hard to explain I guess those experience folks know what I'm trying to say. I bought these tanks to learn and to work on them so do I have to upgrade the gears to get rid of this slipping? If so what type of gear and what else should I upgrade while it's apart. Thanks
John
