You will probably need to extend the chassis, also you might want to try a forum site called rccrawler.com I have been on there a lot in the past until the tank hobby grabbed me in fully, but they have sections for mods, scale conversions, etc. if you haven't been to that site I would recommend checking it out. good luck with your project.

Hi
You could use the body from the Tamiya King Hauler. You need to chop the sleeper cab off but it is easy to do and there are a few of these being done on some other forums. It looks very effective when done.

Hi
This one is on the Tamiyatrucks forum and is based on the King Hauler from Tamiya. Very well done.

Hope that gives you some ideas.

thanks man. i was thinking of even building the covered area in the back out of some coat hangers and then covering it with canvas. but making the whole system removable so i can make it back into a flat bed, and using the same mount holes for the canvas cover to mount a wooden railing system
sound good?
