Just a few details left, nice face painting...oh and the other arm.

Folks once Ifigured this out it was easy. I know that so many of you are far more talented than me. So please take this idea and run with it!

Thanks Dan,

I figured why should all the really big tanks get all the glory? I saw the price tag for those aminated 1/6 figures. They just about cost 6 figures!

With one servo and a loger bit of rod you could have the loader and the Commander looking around, I possiblilities are numerous.

I made it from scrap brass flat stock. The joints are of all things airsoft BBs, and the sockets were cut from broken Tiger suspension arms.

Not including the servo. It cost about $1.50. With servo about $17. Watching the CO move Priceless

All you do guys is take brass tube and cut a spiral. I'll post some construcion pics. You are gonna laugh when you see how simple this is.

Hardest part was getting the guy all hollowed out.

Very cool Don, I salute your work here. Lot's of possibilities. You could drop the binoculars and put in a small fiber optic painted white at the tip to make a cigarette. hmmmm, snake a tube from the smoke gen up through the body.

Ah yes,

And just remember all the pictures ofthe real tiger guys? They smoked pipes also. That would be ever easier.

Now if we can just get one to crawl down and fix his own tank

I love it Don! Great work. For those of not servo savy, could something like this be used with a standard Heng Long set up, or is El Mod required? What will it connect to to cause the brass tube to move?
Would love to see the build pics/

Hey Ern, although EL MOD does have the extra servo channels and extra sound availiblity!!! As long you have an open channel that can drive a DC motor you could do this! Example with a Stug III for instance the turret rotation is not used, you can connect the bottom of the figure to a cam or geared down rotation, so he moves slow enough it can be done like that! Heck you could probably tap off the gun power and have him start sighting in right before every cannon shot as well!

Superb Don

Might try this on one of my 1:6th scale figures as it should be a lot less fiddly than the wee guy you got working.

cheers

Hey Blitz,
Not sure if that will work as I think you need a servo that work both directions. I 'think' that when the head turns clockwise the arm raises and when it turns counter clockwise the arm drops.

Hey guys,

Glad you like my little Frankenstein. I had the Elmod in mind when I thought this up. However since the extra servo in the Elmod only goes oneway that kinda makes it easier.

Somehing on the lines of the asiatam recoil will be rigged up, which it will also be possible to use the Extra plug on the RX-18. Of course you might have to loose the high voltage flash. I also have some cell phone vibrator motors that I have been dying to use.

I'm still designing.....(hehe designing) I'm just flying be the seat of my pants

Anyone have a Tiger Commader or Any old Heng Long Figure for sale cheap? I want to do a "how to" and show you guys how to do it.

I figured I had better come up with something cool since my auto loading firing cannon blew up in my face (figuratively and for literaly[])

Don, I have a couple figures that you are welcome to. I cut up one trying to fit a small camera in, but it didn't work out very well and I pitched it. I think I have one HL commander and one Matorro, PM me an address and I'll get them out to you.

Okay guys,

As it stands now. We have 3 options to work with. I have designed a circuit that will allow Heng Long RX-18 users to make the Tank CO move. I have one for Elmod users to play with, and one for those guys who
have an extra channel in thier radio.

Now if you don't have any of the above you are still in business. What you'll have to do is use turret motion to operate your little fella.

Mad Scientist at work........[>:]

I have to get it all together, and do another CO. The little guy you saw in the video was a prototype and he took a heck of a beating coming to life.

Let me do a bit more R&D and we'll have everyone out there lookin, pointin, shoutin, drinkin, smokin....etc

Don
