I was planning to drive with my Tiger today, but I were not able or struggled to start the tank. When it finaly started no functions worked, only engine sound and steady light. I checked the transmitter batteries and even swapped them with new ones. The tank batteries also was fresh charged. I'm suspecting the transmitter to cause this problem so I opened it, but didn't find any loose wires or anything else. Have anyone out there experienced the same problem? The tank is a S&S model with RX-18

Yes I did press the button and the light was flashing on the tank. I've been using this thank many times before. I used it just a couple of days ago and it was working just fine.

It seems to be very rare when one gets a bad transmitter and I don't think this will prove to be a bad transmitter in this case.It is also possible it could be your crystals, but they sound like they are working because you were able to start the tank and you are getting the sound function and steady lights on the tank.If the crystals are the problem in most casses the tank will not start and the lights just flash. In your case I think the problem is going to be found in one or the other of the two boards in your tank.Wish I could offer you more help than this.

I had a similar issue with my Sherman. The crystal was loose in it's slot. Once I bent the prongs a little to secure it in its receptacle it started up right away. [8D]

I have tried to bend the legs on the crystal slightly without improvement. It will only start when I push the start button and flinck the powerswitch on the remote simultaneously. Same for stopping. There is not a bad connection in the power switch. Crystals are very fragile to shocks as they are produced from super thin quartz plates, but I've always hadle the model with great care so I don't think that's the cause.

I know you said that you have good batteries, but it sounds like the tank batteries are low. Do you have another tank to swap batteries around? The batteries that come with the tank will after awhile not hold a charge. To me it seems that, that may be your prob? I had the same problem with my Tiger, once I changed the tanks battery, all was good again. Hope this helps.
