Default Panther G elevation control

As I said in another post, my Panther G was having some elevation problems out of the box. I opened it up and found that Heng Long appears to have hired some new people working the soldering irons and was impressed with the wiring, but they still lack a bit with quality control. Several of the interior screws were loose, and that appears to be the cause of my problem. Time will tell about the new elevation control mechanism and its reliability I guess, but mine was loose and had come out of the track.

Took it out, put it back in the track, and reinstalled. All working fine now.

Ern,
Who did you order it from? Other then the elevation problem, how is the rest of the tank? I'm already saving my pennies for one so any info will be greatly appreciated.

... the moveable fiber optic hull machine gun is a nice addition as well! There's something else you can show us how to remotely move Don!

Jim, I'm hanging my head down low in shame for turning my back on my US brothers, but couldn't wait and ordered from Matomart. Didn't pay the extra for express shipping, but still had it before Christmas. please forgive me Phil & Bill. Had a bad case of Panther fever!

As for the rest of the tank... love it, but the jury is stilll out on the new sounds. It reminds me too much of the VSTank [which I hate]. It's kind of annoying and I'm considering a change to an RX14 board to be honest with you, or maybe the Creeping Death Thunder1 if there's room. The tank comes with several sprues of accessories that need to be attached, tools, C hooks, hatch handles, gun travel lock, and spare tracks. A very nice change from the old Heng Longs with everything molded on and will be nice come painting time. I don't see a need to order metal bits for this tank as I did with my Tiger which will save some money.

Ern,
Sometimes you gotta buy where the buck means the most or, when you want it really, really, really, bad. It's the next tank on my shopping list ( so long as the M 16 half track doesn't come out). I have the Jagdpanther with the metal upgrades and I'm really happy with that, so I was thinking of doing the same when I order my Panther. What kind of decals did you get, dry transfer or stickers? Thanks for the pics and I hope you post more.

I have never used the HL decals... they look to be the same sticker type as the other Heng Long. I have to go out tonight, but will post some more pictures and maybe a video so you can hear the sounds when I get home later.

I've only got German armor, but that half track does look pretty cool!! [8D]

Ern,
Thanks. That means I have to get some decent decales when I order. Wish H an L would be a bit more accurate in the decal department and get rid of the stickers. The dry transfers seem pretty good, but they always have the same four number combination, What's up with that? All German tanks seem to have a three number system. I guess I should just be glad that they produce a nice RC tank that I can afford.

The elevation system on the Panther is the same engineered and adopted on the Stug for internal clearance reasons
