RE: WA SAN 1/16 M16 HALFTRACK
durability for serious use?
Would I run it in anything other than flat, smooth rock free dirt?
No.
Why? the model is made pretty well and components appear scale-like in thickness for the most part. It just isn't made for
rough use. I'm sure it will try to traverse whatever you aim it at. It's just a question of how long you want it to last.
It's just me. I really baby most of my models. I try to run all of them on appropriate terrain for their size and capability.
So folks say I tuck them in at night. They do all have their own beds and snuggies...

ORIGINAL: Tanque
All depends on how you define serious use. I just received mine from Phil and I'm very pleased with the apparent quality.

great info. ive been holding off on a tank for years hoping a half track would arrise as i didnt have the time to custom build one. now its here. but with my rock crawler back ground id like to take it on rough dirt, inclines, grass etc. if it cant hold up to that ill hold off until one can. a half track stuck to kitchen floor duty isnt quite what im after []

Phil at RCtankwars put up a video on the tube. I wouldn't say this is stuck to the kitchen linoleum nor do I think that was tanque's implication. I think it was more in regards to longevity of the halftrack. I'm sure if you rough ride your rock crawler, there'sforeseeable maintenance.....no different here in armor county.

RE: WA SAN 1/16 M16 HALFTRACK
My road testing has gone very well and I find it to be every bit as good, if not better
than any of my 251 halftracks.
This is not a tank guys an therefore will not ever have the same mobility as a tank.
as for how long it will hold up, that will be dependent on the owner and how they use it.
The M16 is very well built and should hold up well under just about any battle conditions.
Mine has no trouble running from my uncut lawn to the rough driveway over to the sidewalk and back.
This with no modifications other than the electronics and radio. I haven't even relocated the battery.
Just my 2cents

i go try to modefy the front suspension in a working one, would not be that hard would give a nicer run and much better grip for the tracks i think
