Heng Long motor size?
are they 540 sized 27 Turn stock motors?
reason im asking, instead of going to a 3:1 gear box add on, adding weight and cost, to get scale speeds and more incline climbing ability, i was thinking about just swaping in one of my rock crawler motors, 55 Turn or so 540.
anyone know?

RE: Heng Long motor size?
probly cause folks arent familiar with them, the banebots have more torque and less speed.
and a WHOLE lot cheaper
used in robots and combat RCs
specs here:

Nominal voltage on those is 12V...the Graupners work best on 7.2V. I'm not sure that the HL boards can handle the 12V motors. But, try it and let us know how it goes.

Dont really need torque if your running the 3:1, a motor built for torque will never replace a gear reduction box, though both work well hand in hand.

didnt mean to stir up the pot, just wanted to post up something others may have not known about and from what our testing has shown to be a better performing motor.
taoj, as per the origonal post i was wanting a higher torque/lower kv motor to replace the stockers to avoid the added cost and weight of the 3:1 unit.
however being a crawler i know no motor can replace gear reduction, but just trying to find a happy medium ground.

The HL electronics aren't quite as robust as some of the other ESCs out there. But, I'm with you; it's good to have options. I'd say to give them a good testing and let us know the results.

correct but were running them on 7.2 stick packs in our crawlers and haveing much better luck torque wise over the 400s.
