From the looks of those gears the meat grinder got ground up??? [:@] I am fortunate in that I live on good topography. Not a lot of rocks and firm soil. Still may invest in the DT upgrade though. I hear tell it's required material at the AAF!!![8D]

Aye, they did that lad! You don't want to know what they cost, either. Been to Danville many times myself, and yes, you will need the idler system there for sure. Picking stones out of Danville is like picking rocks out of the fields back home on the farm. Darned things seem to breed when you're not looking.

here are a few pics of the strenghtening of the chassis, i go see what the test say with metal tracks maybe add an aluplate on the sides to but it is very strong now

i also mounted stiffer idler feathers into the system, its more then adequate enough, i don't drive that much and even so i can change that later onto

Thanks Karel, between you and Sev I have enough confidence to cut my extra Tiger II lower hull and add the 26mm extension for my JagdTiger build. Thanks again for the great photos from both of you. Really made things clear for me.

I used the Wecohe hower hull, which if memory serves, although it was based on the original pre DMD KT hull, was correct in it's length and width for the JT. I will measure for length tomorrow. I have to remove the superstructure from him to do so, and it's 23:00 here. A tad late in the evening.

I get approximately 36.4 cm of bottom pan length, measured from the junction of the angle between the lower hull pan and the lower front armor plate to the end of the lower hull pan rear.

I sold this jagdtiger onto a holland guy wich would finish it
maybe i build another one again on the tamiya chassis , its an easy mod to do and the cheapest of them all if you see the mato cost here 750 euro in can build a full tamiya jagdtiger for that amount

i know its quite a time ago i was here , now more into modern vehicles like fennek , eagle 4 , leopard 2 all full option

cheers

Do you stretch the Tamiya chassis to get the proper length for a jagdtiger?

That's the way to do it. That guy did a great job. I'll be watching this one with interest, and I hope you post lots of photos. I went the lazy man's route and just bought one.

There's an interesting history to that particular tank, though, and there's a video of it on the home page for Taigen Tanks. Will you battle with yours? I think some clubs let the jagdtiger fight with impenetrable frontal armor. That would be realistic, though, as the allies couldn't really hurt it from head on. Gotta sneak up behind that rascal!!

I still have an extra Tamiya King Tiger lower hull to try this on in the stash. I just picked up a Trumpeter 1/16 Jagdtiger to use for the upper hull detail.
Hope to start on it soon, when I do, I will do my best to post some build photos.
