If I keep screwing up like this, I'll be rich one day.
So I had the KING TIGER all ready to roll. One last test and then we do the big movie. However the ever present Mr. Murphy paid avisit and the high voltage flash refused to work.
I tear the tank back down and find the wire going to the switch in the loaders hatch has come loose. That is a quick fix. So to give me a bit of insurance I get out the ole hot glue gun let it heat up only to find there is no enough ofthe glue stick left for me to operate the trigger that pushes the glue throughthe heater element. Grabbing the first thingI can find which is a section of plastic rod, I pushed the what remained of the glue where I wanted it.
Kinda forgot it was sitting there, about a half hour later I look over, and see white spegetti from the tip of the glue gun. So I pulled the end and more came out, in a perfect tiny fiber of plastic. I then tried to adjust the size and sure enough I was making plastic rod. So I thought lets see how small we can go. The tip of a defunct airbrush overthe tip and bit more heat and once again a perfect fiber about 8 feet long.
So now I had another idea. Off to the garage to find my old 1/700 scale submarine molds. I picked the good ole GUPPY III class taped the mold together and placed the tip ofthe glue gun in the fill hole of the mold.
It was slow but in 10 minutes I opened the mold and there sat a perfect GUPPY III class sub.
Well now this had to be too good to be true. So I removed the plastic rod from the back and noted that most ofthe lenth ofthe tube was soft and pliable. I could have bend orformed that rod into any shape I wanted with no distortions.
So with a $4 hot glue gun I have added another tool, that will help make even better and cheaper models.
