Default club question

So do clubs generally care what type of tank one has. Or is it generally run what you brung kind of deal, Or are they picky about running a tiger agains a bulldog for instance. Just curious about that.

Clubs usually keep the scale the same and classify tanks into weight/armor thickness categories. So a Tiger I would be classified as a heavy and the M41 a light. Each 'class' has a predetermined hit limit so in a armor battle the Tiger would last longer as far as the hits it can take than a M41.

You should talk to the club you are planning on joining or attending. everyone has a slightly different format ranging from very strict and formal rules to a gaggle of folks who, have none and, just like to play with tanks and show off their stuff. i hope you will find one that suits your needs.

Hi Four Slot,

I run the North East Armored Div. here in the northeast USA. We (NEAD) do not split hairs on such issues. I have all WW II tanks except for my Tamiya Leo. It is on only modern one I own. I do not battle with it in competition battles because it would have too unfair of an advantage over the rest. In a fun battle it is fine and even better if the is a Leo on the opposing team. In Danville you can run anything you want or make when we are just having fun battles. We have done senarios where all tanks can fight (WW III style) but not lately. We try to confine ourselves to WW II and that is all we run during competiton there too. We at NEAD welcome all tanks and all scales too.

The commander
that soundsgreat to bad you are so faraway because that would interest meunfortunately there are no tank clubs here in Calgarythat I know of. I have asked at our local hobby shops but they didn't know of any. If there was one what you have is what I would be looking for. The main reason that I asked the question was that I wish to get the bulldog because it has the look that I like the most.

Fourslot,

If you like the look of the bulldog then go with that, and tinker with it, weather it, or leave it as is, or do whatever with it. And then keep searching for clubs in your area in the meantime. Then if they only do WWII era, that will give you an excuse to buy another tank I also found this http://www3.telus.net/public/crowley/rc_tanks.htm I am not sure of the distance from you, but maybe they know of others clubs in your area.

Cheers,
Wade
