Hey Friends,
I'm building more Tank Commanders. HoweverI took a break to work on the TOP SECRET Tiger 300. You guys are gonna love this one when he is done
Well I made a home made recoil. I made4 another of the Tank Commander circuits, but jumpered out the 220 Resistor. On the barrel I epoxyed a toothed spline. made a cradle and on a small motor I attached the gear that drives the spline.
Same drill as with the tank commander, I used two reed switches, one at the rear of the spline/rack (whatever) and one on the front. When the fire signal is given the motor drives the rack to the rear until is is switched by the reed switch. The motor reverses and drivesthe barrel back to the battery position. Works great. So then I made another flash from a camera. I hooked the trigger to the rack and the recharge switch to the Little platform that hold the whole darn thing.
Now here is the strange part. I had the sound module for the main gun sitting in the turret next to the flash circuit. The micro switch was not even hooked up yet.
So I decided to test the gun system and the flash before adding the sound. When the flahs goes off, for some strange reason the sound module activates, with no switch at all. It scared me at first as I was not expecting the sound.
Ever time I activate the gun the sound does its thing. Very wierd! The only thing I can think of is the voltage surge of the flash is causing the module to activate. I am debating fixing it or maybe not, just let nature take its course.
Anyone have anything like this happen?
Don
