1/16 WW2 German infantry figures.
Friends,I need a link to a website that carries WW2 German Soldier figures.Specifically I would like to get a soldier figure standing up with his mauser
rifle over his shoulder.I want to pose him for a tank bridge project I`m working on.I can`t build the guardhouse entrance until I get the "Guard" as there may be electronics involved in his duties.

Try this site Scalehobbyistor Michigan Toy Soldier Co. There's other figures out there that aren't so main stream, but I can't recall what site they were on. But I do know that you'll find more outside of the popular manufactures if you google 120mm WWII figures.

TONY, Thanks for the links. What I want to do is have the guard move forward when the tank gets in close to the guard house, sort of like a cuckoo bird
when the clock strikes, using a modified servo and a battery.

Sailor, you may want to look at Tamiya's 1/16 "German Field Commander", #36313
http://cgi.ebay.com/Tamiya-1-16-WWII...item563b46ce31
Hal, TRUMPETER makes 1/16 scale Russian WWII Figures....2 Tankers, 2 Officers .... each offered in in pre- and post-1943 Uniform. (check the collars, folks.....the "mandarin style" is the later one). The figures are well detailed and very sturdy, and come with photoetched details. They have been listed for as little as $10-$12 in some Asian eBay stores!
Here's a link to one of the "Soviet Officers", as reviwed on Missing Lynx:
http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/...eviewaj_1.html
And here's a link to one of the "Soviet Tank Crewmen":
http://www.missing-lynx.com/reviews/...eviewaj_1.html
Best of all these are "True 1/16" scale, so they won't look like Giants or Midgets when shown off next to 1/16 Tamiya or Dragon Figures11

No problemo guys. Scalehobbyist.com is where I normally get all my kits. They have a pretty wide variety of kits and an awesome filtering option and lower cost than most places. Michtoys has a ton too, but as you may have noticed.....they are a tad bit higher, I only use them for specific supplies like Bragdon Enterprise pigment powder and specials on building supplies that may be better than hobbylinc sometimes.
Hal, if you use the filter you can find a lot of the Russian/Soviet kits.http://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagor...a=6&ct=6&sc=16
Charlie, that sounds like a project! Please post it when you get that done!

I haven't ran across any other makers as of yet. A lot of the good stuff is in 1/35 scale, but I'm not interested in having pygmy people command and ride on my tank, lol. I'm hoping Tamiya will make some now that they've introduce the KV into their 1/16 line up, but only time will tell.

Again not cheap, at about $44 US dollars each, but some of the best figures you're going to find out there
http://www.rjproducts.com/Catalogs/S..._Products.html
Scroll down to the bottom half of the page for 1/16th scale (120mm) figures
S&T Products are expensive but top notch.

Killic64, Thanks for the suggestion on #36313 (German Field Commander).Although I doubt if any field commander ever stood watch at a guard shack,
I agree with you on his authoritive demeanor/look and I think he`ll make a fine bridge crossing guard. We can always say he got demoted for screwing something up.Kinda like when the Captain of the Missouri got her stuck on a sandbar at the entrance of Norfolk,VA. harbor in 1953.A year later when I was getting discharged from Green Cove Spings ,Fla. he was in charge of that small base.

You're Welcome, Sailor!
I don't know if #36313 is a very "Old" or very "New" Tamiya Figure. If it's the latter, we may be in for many more good things in the 1/16 "Warriors" line. I hope so! (BTW, the 1/16 Trumpeter Figures are about equal to Tamiya's in "Quality"... )

RE: 1/16 WW2 German infantry figures.
In real life people are all different sizes. I am 6 foot 4 inches yet my friend is 5 foot 5 inches. When we stand beside each other it looks like the picture between the 1:18th and 1:15th scale figures - you really notice it in photos of real people. You can always
You can mix and match the scales.
Another thing that can be done is mix and match parts between figures of the same scale to change the position and look and can give far more variety for a diorama or model. Take arms from one kit and swap with another. Ususally a small amount of filler or putty is all that is needed to blend the two together.
cheers

What about this one! http://www.jimmyflintstonestudios.co...t_detail&p=108
Schultz reassigned to guarding a bridge instead of POWs! I Have one but still haven't painted it yet. Debating cutting in half and making a tank commander out of him. The hand behind his back is holding a string of sausages or bratwurst.
