Default Panther G/

All,
As most know I just bought the Panther G ( burnt board and bad gear thread ) anyway, Mato gave me a new board and gear. I have it torn apart for painting. Anyway, Does the Panther G springs need to be clocked like I had to do on my Jagdpanther or does it have the sturdier springs installed.
When I received it and it still had the plastic tracks it didn't sag at all like my Jpanther did. I just don't want to clock them and then find out it rides like a 1/35th scale tank with no suspension.

Thanks.

Jim

I might suggest to rework anyway just the first and last wheel of each side, since it helps to keep the correct track tension. You might leave the other wheels as they are.

I just finished up my Panther (metal tracks and Impact gears) The thing weights alot. I had to clock all my springs and put the heavy duty springs in the front (and back)

All,
In prepping my Panther for painting, I noticed that the road wheel swing arms seemed loose. I ended up taking all the wheels off to tighten the allen screw that holds them in. In so doing, I found the front and rear most road wheel springs to be much stiffer then the rest. I may just see if that is enough to give good suspension without being to tight. Will let all know. Thanks for the input.

that is correct, the front and back are stiffer but not as stiff as the upgraded ones. As to the loose swing arms you should drill out the pin hole about 1mm so the spring can be screwed in a bit more to really secure the swing arms

TJM,
I was able to tighten them enough to take out the play but still allow the swing arm to recoil smoothly. Did you still clock or upgrade the the middle springs?

I clocked all my springs even the upgraded ones. The front and rear are much stiffer than the middle ones. I have Impact gears upfront and they are quite heavy (and matorro metal tracks) I added weight to the rear to offset the front weight.
