Panther,

It would be great to have you attend. The event is only 15 minutes from Niagara Falls, so you could always make an over-nighter of it.

To Glen, JTM, Nitro, Captain Action and others,

Just a note, be sure to have an extra battery or two. Those 2000 mah MATO batteries only last 30 mintues of play and take 5+ hours to charge. I know that RAD TOYS on Lake St in St. Catharines has 3000 mah for $40, not a great deal, but it is local. Also check ebay for good deals. Be sure the battery has the right connectors.

Dennis and I are also working on the next meet for October 23rd. We are going to do a Stalingrad theme with a massive Urban battlefield. Location yet to be determined.

Is Airsoft or Henglong IR System necessary?
I have two HL tanks. But I removde the Airsoft system from them because I don't like unreal barrel.

I wouldn't think so bring your tanks. There will be spare tanks around to use with airsoft and IR should you want to participate in any battles.

Hulu,

No need to have IR or Airsoft, just bring you and your tanks down to Fort Erie, drive em around the battlefield and have fun. The Airsoft and IR battles are just a few of the events going on. Like John said, there will be other tanks to use. So far there are 8 tankers planning to attend, maybe a few more with close to two dozen tanks on hand.

Captain Action is coming from TO, so maybe you can hitch a ride with him.

I will try to make it down.  It's a little bit of a drive but not too bad.  I only have one tank (HL Tiger 1) and it is a state of re-construction.  It is some-what up and running though, so even if I don't have the gun working for target practice I can at least drive it around and show it off.    Also I am putting a CO2 powered gun in it, will that be a problem?

I think we are now close to 10 tankers attending. Dacostasr and I are busy working on terrain at the moment. Here is a pic of what I am working on.

Dennis has been working on the 1/24 scale village.

Yes, I have 8 IR Vstanks, two of which will be for sale (Leopard 2A6 for $50 and a green T-72 for $75)

Dennis has 3, so we are going to be running an IRAQ scenario. 3 Abarms and a Type-90 (Japanese Expeditionary Force) vs 4 T-72s.

Please do bring your 1/6 Stuart. Everyone would love to see it.

We have 3 Tamiya Tanks with TBUs coming, plus about 20 HLs IR and Airsoft. I may upgrade one of my HLs with a DBC for the meet.

Around 10 tankers have expressed intentions of coming.

Airsoft shoot out and more. It should be good.

Impressive amount of work in the preparations!

Airsoft shoot out .
I'll be there for that, probably won't put in a good showing , but I'll be there anyway.

I am interested to see the IR action too, might be something I want to do, as well, it will be a good opportunity to see what its like.

Tim

I forgot to ask, do you know the spot on the grounds of the old fort where the event will be held?

Howdy!

We've been trying to keep our webpage updated with information. I'm really excited about this happening...can't wait to battle and meet everyone. Our hope is to keep our group going year round.

Here is the website address...I'm not a master webmaster...we make do. If you have a pic or two you want me to add to the webpage send me the info and I'll add it.

4 weeks to go till Sept 11th!

FYI, we are working on the next CAN-AM Tank Meet for October 23rd, 2010.

A Stalingrad theme with lots of urban terrain. Pretty much the same format at the Sept 11th Tank Meet, (HL Airsoft, Tamiya IR, and whatever anyone want to bring) but we are having a special VsTank IR WW2 Urban Battle. You might want to check out getting your own 1/24 VSP IR Tiger, KV-2, KV-1 or M4A3 for this one.

And we are working on a new and better location in Fort Erie.

More info to follow on a new thread soon.

Good luck with your event guys, to bad I moved south, I used to be just across the river in Lewiston. I did manage to meet up with Dennis a few times and do some IR battling, he had a portable city in his van !

ArmChair,

I'd move to Florida too if I could.

Dennis is one of those "Must Have" people a club needs to function. His enthusiasm is contagious.

Tim, everything is fantastic.
I only concern one thing. Do you think the grass field  is hard enough?
If the lawn is too soft, maybe no tank will be  functional after 4 hours running...

Hulu,

Dacostasr and I Tank tested the grass about a month ago. It does need to be trimmed down.

So, I am going to make a quick Lawn Mower strike on the area the night before to get the grass down as far as possible. I think I will be good as long as no one reports me to the parks police (I'll wear black! We also have a ashfault to use.

I walked the area yesterday and it is littered with paper gun powder cartridges from last weeks re-enactment, so I think a little trim won't be a big deal.

In the future, we are looking at more suitable locations with indoor washrooms. The Fort gift shop does have washrooms accessible from the outside.
