I'm going, for sure.
I know I likely will but I don't care , sounds like it will be fun; and informative for us new guys.

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
WOW! Another Niagara Tanker! 12 now planning to attened. We should have some tanks for your son to try too.
No shame at this tank meet. Bring your tanks and have fun. Seeing everyone's work and the wide variety of rc tanks is going to great.
Controlling who is on what freqency will be the biggest challenge. I think I am going to have to keep a chart.
Again, we are working on future events, so this is not going to be a one time thing.
Oh, and I am going to bring my new RC tank with me. Well, maybe not LOL.

ERggman,
That'r nothing, my wife went on a little vacation and while she was gone I bought a PZ IV and Panther G with metal upgrades. That'll teach her to leave me home alone with a credit card LOL.

The rule is it takes TWOpeople do do a stupid thing: ONE person does the stupid thing (e.g. drops $175 on another toy tank) THE OTHER person (my wife) who didn't stopme from doing a stupid thing. In the end I have to conclude that society is really to blame.

lol! Or this forum is to blame. Something about this forum makes you want to spend money. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I think it has something to do with tanks.

Just look at the signatures....you think it is to tell you what people have...you're wrong...it is a subliminal message telling you what to buy next.

You think you are spending money on tanks now, just wait till after Sept 11th.
You'll be ready to sell a kidney on Ebay just to get your first Tamiya (seriously though, its not that bad. Totally worth it. BiggTony went into a Hobby store to ask for directions and walked out with 3 Tamiyas. He's never been happier.)
When you see John's Uber Airsoft Heng Longs, you'll be picking off Squirrels at 100 meters.
After playing with some 1/24 Vstanks, you'll remodel your basement into a battlefield.
There is no cure. [sm=bananahead.gif]

LOL! Man I wish I lived further up north. I'd definitely go....but then again, thesignificanceof the shared date is a little bit of a problem, so I probably wouldn't be able to attend. Anyway, Tamiya number four is right around the corner...lol
As for the cure....I beg to differ, as this is my Kryptonite!

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
Not to be confused with the September EVENT...we are already planning the October Event. Sorry didn't mean to cause confusion.
We are having our first event on September 11th...and the Rumble in the Rubble is in October.

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
I just got word from another tanker and his son planning to attend. We are now looking at 14 tankers!!!
Frankly, I am just ecstatic. I had no idea there were so many RC tankers in this area. With this much interest, we should be able to form a club with regular scheduled functions.

We're going to be a bit late because my kids have their soccer finals also on Sept 11th. I hope we can catch the last few hours.

Very nice!
I hate to see the summer go but things like this event and the Nov. Toronto Hobby Show help compensate for the onset of seasonal change.

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
I'm glad to hear there will be another meet in October as I can't get Sept. 11th off of work []. I was getting all excited about actually meeting other tankers. Well, hopefully I'll be there in October with my Tiger up and running. By the way Fireman Tim, that sherman looks suspiciously like the display here in London in front of the Wolsely Barracks! We actually have another sherman in Victoria park, downtown London.

Ya mean this one? I slobbered all over that one too. LOL. I am an hour away from Borden's Worthington tank park at the moment. I think I'll make a detour on the way home from Fire College.
Too bad you can't make Sept 11th. Like I said in previous posts, there is enough interest to maintain a club, so October is just the start.

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
Less than 1 week to go until the Sept 11th CAN-AM Tank Meet.
Long range weather forecast looks great (hope I didn't jinks it).
Dennis and I have been working feverously to get everything ready. We now have a control system for the use of HL frequencies. Airsoft Targets are ready, buildings are almost complete.
Charge your batteries and grease your gears!
Be sure to check this thread Friday night for any last minute updates.

4 Days to go.
Dennis and I are burning the midnight oil to get things ready for Sept 11th. Here is a pic of the farm house that I am working on. Shingles were made using fun foam and hot glue.
We now have a location for the Oct 23rd Battleday. We will announce it at the Sept 11th Tank meet, and you can read about it here on RCU next week.

RE: 2010 CAN-AM RC Tank Meet
For all those who are attending CAN-AM this Saturday, here is an aerial view of the location we are meeting. We are going to set up in the west end of the park where I have circled on the map.
I do have some bad news. Construction has begun on the Fort's gift shop, so our access to public washrooms may have been cut off. Our nearest washroom facilities will be the Tim Hortons or McD's on Garrison road.
Good news is that our next event on Oct 23rd will be at a more secure location with washrooms at the Fort Erie Canadian Sportsman's club.
