Default KV-1 return wheels-how to remove without damage

I am installing metal wheels with bearings for my SU-152. no probs. with the idlers and road wheels but the return rollers are not playing fair. Before i go to a radical approach, does anyone know how these wheels come off.
hub cap remove then unscrew? Mine did not seem to have removable caps on the returns.
Press out/pull out?
other?

I want to save the plastic wheels for a future project

never mind got it figured!!

interesting as mine were press fit shafts with the hub caps cast into the wheel. Is yours a Tamiya? Mine is a Heng Long. My problem is solved.

I think the plastic version over metal versions are sometimes different. Usually the plastic version has the push rods and the metal versions have allen screws for the sprocket then phillip head screw for the return roller.

Kclank,

If it's not a trade secret can you tell us how you removed the return rollers? Iwould like to know for future reference on my HL KV-1. Thanks

I laid the lower hull on it's side and used a pin punch and small hammer to tap out the return rollers axle pin. One was real stubborn but most came out nicely. The road wheels have a removable hubcap which just pops off. then you just remove a screw. the idlers are held in with a small phillips (cross head) head screw.
